anything SEO is just to make your urls cuter and the meta data more accurate... BASED ON YOUR SITE CONTENT...

so the content is the key... have a great content, you then have great google hits.

condensing the duplicate url WILL help ranking ;)
I would never use a free product tho, I've seen to many die off then those who used it are screwed when it's time to upgrade.
