What this hack does?
This hack adds members to your online list from your already registered users.

How will I arrange the total users?
Admin Control Panel > Fake Users > Add Member > You can increase or decrease the number.

What should I do for the Guest Number?
Admin Control Panel > Fake Users > Visitors> You can increase or decrease the number.

Actually I like this hack - two thumbs up! It serves it's intended purpose very well. Good tool for boards just starting out.

One suggestion: allow "most users online" to be changed to higher numbers if that is possible.

Why is this that on my forum when I enable this hack, the usernames are displayed along with the usergroup legend? :confused:

Also, as everyone has pointed out.. the double comma problem and no presence in online.php plus the most users ever online count not adjusting to it are the issues that should have been taken care of before claiming it as a new release.

Oh and it actually is a great mod if you use it in moderation. Aka if you set it to say 5-10 users and not 100+. Because then your forum never looks "empty" and people will want to participate.

Since I did install this, it screwed up my users online & currently active users. I have uninstalled it but does anyone know how I could fix this?

Its showing guests on currently active users... but when I go on who's online, it says 0 guests and shows none of them.

I thought the MOD is supported by the Coder, but i have realised that this Hack is not supported by the Coder at all.

Whilst the idea is ingenious and funny, I don't see how it can make a board look better, or an administrator feel happier. Would it make me happy if my board is full of fake users? No. It's sad actually. There are no shortcuts to real success. Trying to fool yourself won't work either. Get some REAL members, even if only 5 or 10, and experience the pleasure of seeing your board grow. My current forum is about 6 months old, with 300 members, of who 200 are active. Everybody knows everybody. If I started to add such fake users who never post, it would look ridiculous and people would start wondering what is going on.

Though I dont need this, it is a great mod.

As a board is starting out, the owner may want it to look busy or no one will join... No one wants to be the only person on a website. This helps create a busy look and make a board appear to be popular and get some people using it. Its way better than having 1 person show up, look around, grab their nutsack and run out the door... at least if someone walks in, sees 10-15 people lurking, they'll stickaround long enough to perhaps run into a real 'live' person...

Why is it that people like to just post in threads that they think is stupid? Some newer boards may need this to spark interest in the forums. I know I am repelled from forums that have 1 user online every couple of hours. It makes a forum look dead.

This hack has a bright future, if it only worked with online.php and the "Record of all time". Then it would be perfect.

I use it on a community that just started, and works for 95% on 3.8.4
No errors. I haven't fully tested it yet. Maybe this Winter we release a full upgrade for 3.8.x with new features.

E.g. if we have 100 guests and 50 users all the time people will notice

the number should change all the time, e.g. 20 users then after a refresh 50 users

Problem resolved, was using wrong version.

No errors. I haven't fully tested it yet. Maybe this Winter we release a full upgrade for 3.8.x with new features.


I don't know how you do it but i cant even import the product. It gives some dependencies error.. or incompatible with version 3.7 and above...

I don't think this is helpful. I tried to use it, but had to disable Who's Online and a mod so people would join.

If you want members, just ask people to join, just so you can have a member count. Post comments about your site on Google, get reviews, etc!

Yeah it seems working on beta 5 but I'm trying it on RC2 and getting template errors on top of the header.

On your site it say "En este momento hay 219 usuarios en l?nea (http://www.ddirecta.com/online.php). 43 miembros y 176 visitantes." but do not display user names of 43 miembros.

Ahan.. the use is to just show more activity initially to attract more registrants. That's all. No more, no less. Plus it's a mod.. if you don't wanna use it, it's your call.Who even looks at number of registered users when joining a forum? I look at the content. Content is king, not fake statistics.

Well, for us newbies this mod is very useful, along with the "Members that visited in the last 24 hours" mod.

When a site doesn't look very active, no one wants to register. When they see its active, they want to register.

My forum went live about 3 weeks ago and I only have about 5,000 members so far, this mod is still very useful because during the night hours, not many people are online, only about 130. If I add 200 fake guests that makes my site look a bit busier.

Plus, there aren't any ads whatsoever on my site and that makes it look a bit empty. :confused:

I installed this plugin, it doesn't add any new users. It makes the current registered users "active".
I go to the who's online and the "fake" users aren't in it. Not a very good mod. I installed this to my new site and it says 50 online and it doesn't change the Most users online.

This mod needs improvement.

Hello thanks for this big Hack, but I have a doubt:

How can it do that when one gains access to the profile of a User (who has been added to the list of Users that is viewing the Forum BY MEANS OF Fake User) one sees like that the user is connected really? Namely where it puts Last Activity that it puts: Today (since it is connected by the Fake user in this moment) and that the icon of Online and Offline is like Online?

Namely I want to do that when one gains access to the profile of a user by means of which User is used fake one sees like that it is connected really.

AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > *Now look for a title "Fake User Statistics" or similar and then double-click to edit the settings :cool:.

Why is it when viewed with Firefox, all the names are run together without spaces?

This mod is broke for users of Firefox and IE8. Works nice with Chrome.

yes this mod have many bugs i have installed it in vb 3.8.7 patch 3 and i noticed that some of problems .

1 > its show the fake user's separate with the real online users . see the attachment i have red mark it .

2 > its show the fake usergroup only the first group from the setting menu . if you type 2.11.12.13 etc its show only the user's from group 2 only and if you type 11,2,13,12 then its show only 11 . its mean its show only the first group from setting .

any one have solution of these issue's ?
