View Full Version : How can I let users attach images inline? (not remote hosted)

Hi,

I would like my forum users to be able to use their attached images inline, within their message. I know you can already do this with the tags, but that involves the extra step of having the user upload the image first (to a hosting site like photobucket).

I want my users to be able to host their images [img] on my server (like attachments).

Is there a way to implement this kind of functionality on my vBulletin 3.7 forum?

Thanks

Lynne

It's default vB - have them select Manage Attachments and attach the images, then go to the post, find the area they want to insert it, and select the paperclip icon to put the attachment in at that point.

thanks for the very quick answer!

That makes sense - except that as a forum user on many sites over many years, I've never noticed that this works like that. So I wonder if my visitors will know too.. I suppose I'll have to write a little instruction somewhere.

I would write instructions if you want them to be able to do this. I, personally, do not feel it is in anyway obvious how to do this. Once you do it, it's easy, but to figure it out on your own is not easy.
