This is a Ranks System designed for VBulletin 3.6.8 & compatible w/ 3.7.x & 3.8.x so it may work for other versions but It has not been verified so respectfully - Backup your Database before attempting, a wise Forum Admin always does a backup no matter how bothersome before trying a mod/hack.

Hack Version: 0.0.2
Compatible vB version: 3.6.8 , 3.7.3 PL1, 3.7.4, & 3.7.5

UPDATE 0.0.2.2

Here comes the New Updated Version for a Fresh and Clean install where you DO NOT have to make any of the Fixes stated above.
please follow the readme and the template Edits in the Install file and the readme file to get it fully working.

If you download this, upload the new .xml file to your Prodcts and let it overwrite everything.
This will Fix the URL appreance AND the Box in the Request Form where it now says "Recipient User ID" instead of the old "Recipient Username" and its a bit smaller for letting you know :)

DESCRIPTION:
This is a Ranks system. Admin can give members ranks, and rank icons will be displayed in member's profile, posts, as well as in a rank list.

FEATURES:
In ACP
- Can Create/Edit/Delete/Reorder categories/sub-categories in ACP (with category name and description)
- Can Create/Edit/Delete ranks in ACP (with Rank Name, Description, Icon URL, Image URL)
- Can Move one (or all) rank(s) from one category to another
- Can set some ranks un-classified (not displayed for public)
- Can re-order ranks in ranks showcase
+ Issue ranks to members, based on username or userid, with Issue Reason
+ Remove ranks from members
- Options to set number of ranks displayed in postbit
- Options to turn on/off showing rank icon, images, rank requests in ranks list, ranks icons in memberlist
- Options to re-order ranks in postbit and member's profile
>Order by issued time (newest first)
>Order by issued time (oldest first)
>Order by Rank Order (ASC)
>Order by Rank Order (DESC)
- Option to set rank in-active. Inactive ranks will not be listed in rank list.
However, it will still be displayed in user's profile, if member has the rank.
- Option to set "Request Rank" option for each rank. (Need "Show request rank column" option ON to see the request link)
- Set custom usergroup permission, to set which group can request rank (access request rank page)
- Option to limit maximum number of users for each rank displayed in ranks list
- Change rank_request options, all options are set in AdminCP, template and phrase based. Totally customizable
- Option to send PM to use when he receives an rank.

Front page
- Display ranks list in with: Rank Name, Description, Icon, Image, and Members who get each rank.
- Display ranks showcase in profile, with Rank information, Issue time and reason
- Display rank icons in postbit (showthread, showpost, announcement, private)
- Display limit ranks in postbit, with total ranks, and a link to ranks showcase in

Member profiles.
- Rank request, link to a form sending to email/PM/new thead or post (based on Dr Erwin Loh's Form hack)
- Display rank on Memberlist page (by trulylowcarb)
- Display individual rank with name of members who receive the rank

Install instructions and everything you need should be in the zip, read it carefully and take your time, this works and has been tested on http://www.tournamentgamingworld.com/online in several styles. Some of the guru's out there can tweak it more to suit their tastes all we ask is credit where credit is due i.e. how we listed where the idea came from.

The Rank System is a variation of the Awards System by Hancho, it will work with the Awards Mod 100% as seen in the screenshots (See the admin panel screen shot, the Awards Mod is listed below the Ranks mod!).

If you have any request for additional screenshots please post and I will post them ASAP.
If you attempt this in another version and it works correctly please post below that you have it installed and which version you are running it on.

Version Updates:

10/19/2008 - Updated to version 0.0.2, Optional BB Code in Install.txt IF you want to approve ranks by a simple click! this must be setup via the options with correct thread ID's etc. After setup when a member request an award it post the request to a new thread (the one you specified) and then simply click the Approve link to do so. The post will then be "soft deleted" and as for the user, check their profile ;).

General Updates:

10/21/2008 - Updated rank.php which is located in admincp folder. Please Download "Update.0.0.2-1.zip" and install in your admincp folder - without it you will receive a DB error in your admincp which will not allow you to remove a previous rank. Once you have updated, you can remove the previous ranks with success! Sorry for the coding error and thanks for using YARS!
11/15/2008 - YARS 0.0.2 Update by TheLastSuperman!

Sorry about this guys, one simple mistake on my part.

In line 3 of the XML product file I used & instead of AND (habit) so it was not importing!

Fixed!

- Removed the old YARS.0.0.2.1.zip and re-uploaded the correct package w/ the same name.
- Included the YARSxml.zip which is just the product itself for those who DL'd the syntax slighted xml.

im using internet explorer. when i see the icons
under the members avitars, there is a grey
box around the rank icon. how do i fix this?

oh bro i just noticed it only does it with
IE 6. Crazy thing is the majority of my
members use the old IE 6 program.

maybe if i make them .gif instead of .png?

i dont know if you have access to IE 6 to

I did not even expect that :) ...IE6... I opened up on my lunch in FF & IE7 which was almost over else I would have spent more time looking into it but just now getting home.

No problem! I caught it this morning after updating our version w/ the new update package... I said wait a minute lol! Jur just had a typo but S-MAN for the assist so all is well :D

Also, I have it working flawlessly as of the update this morning.... even before the Thread Approval was working perfectly!!!! SO, not sure why yours is not working like ours is BUT posting this just so ya know I have not forgot about you!

Good job man! Dont use this, but can you please tell me, how you added the "AWARDS SHOWCASE" next to the userstats in postbit(seen in your pics 2 and 3)? I?ve tried hours, but did not get it working. lol :)

Hmmm, custom Style I presume? I have run across this before as we have over 5 styles installed in our forums.... The main is white, then for each tournament they have their own style to make it feel more like "home" or just to feel like they are here for their single game if they don't want to play in the other tournaments.

Whenever you have time :D - I will be on this weekend, I have to check a template of my own for FiMeTi and Wacko who had a question regarding his one-click thread approval of the ranks mod so best bet is to get it to me by tomorrow so I can schedule you in ;).

Really? You uploaded the files correct?

If not it may just be some code conflicting, in that case please provide a copy of your rank.php code contents via PM ;)

Edit: Actually, double check all your template edits!!! And what exactly were you trying to do in admincp.... give an award, setup one etc?

im getting those errors as well and its the same error code but on a diff line for adding a new one, rank manager and giving a rank, plus when i click on the rank link in the nav it shows the same error as well. i have went back and checked on my edits all seem to check out fine but i will check again.

EDIT: Actually the first memberinfo edit is diff for some reason

I would say the single one thing that need to be added for me to be able to use this when I launch my live update is the ability to restrict to certain usergroups for management. I don't want my regular moderators managing this. My site is to large to manage that many. I would need this restricted down to Super Moderators or have the option to clarify specific groups.

So I hope you do add that ability. :)

I will see about it in the next release.... and I might be close to tracking down your problem! I will pm you by this weekend just busy between now and then!

When creating a new Category (In [Add new Rank Category), i cannot choose a Parent Category (even if there is another category created, the option is only None).

Try re-installing the product .xml file and check again!

I only put this in the 3.7 add-on due to another member here installing and testing which he has the same version you do and everything works fine except for his One-Click Thread Approval.... So yours should work ;)

Great mod, tho having issues installing....

stuck at step 6

Step 6: Add in new BB Code for Thread Approval
Admin CP --> Add New BB Code

Title: url-self
Tag: urlself
Replacement: <a href="{option}" target="_self"> {param} </a>
Example: vbulletin
Description: url linking back to self instead of new window
Use {option} = Yes
Button Image = N/A

I get the following warning probably because I already have the yet another award tho not sure if it is related...

There is already a BB code tag named 'urlself'. You may not create duplicate names.

Just double-check to make sure they approve IF your setting it up to post the request in a thread which they should as they do on ours plus I just fixed our Yet Another Awards System which had a problem.

i have questions:

1) will this work with 3.7.4?
2) i do not have the yet another award from Hancho, I use the Yet Another Awards System 4.0 by Xanlamin, so would it work in combination with this hack? or would there be any problem?
3) the update you gave (rank.php), if iam installing it for the first time, then should i trash the rank.php in 0.0.2 version and use the one in the updated folder?

u see i am not a coder or something and i have to follow the instructions to make things work so can you please advice?

1. It has only been tested on 3.7.3, I believe it should HOWEVER with ANY hack/mod you need to backup your database before attempting ESPECIALLY if the mod says "DB Changes" even if your the most experienced coder out there due to one thing... simple human error ;)
2. It does not work in combination, it is separate! Please see the screenshot of my AdminCP as we use Hancho's Award system and wanted it to be separate, therefor it should do just fine and have a separate admin area and DB tables etc.
3. Yes, ALWAYS use the files in ANY update we post IF newer files exist!

That might be something as simple as the wrong rank.php being in there or could be something else.... try the newer files and post back ASAP :D.

Also like I said, possibly late tonight but I will be updating the install.txt so it should be even easier and less confusing for non-experienced users... heck, I was non-experience about 5 months ago but I learn fast...... I have two mods in development but not saying what they are until I release ;).

I'll have the install.txt updated tomorrow and possibly a thorough revision of the mod code itself based on feedback for all you 3.7 installers :D so thanks!

thanks for your detailed answer. yes i am a new comer as u were 5 months ago:d i installed it with 3.7.4 and everything seemed in order except for that error. yes i sued the new file u posted in the updated folder. but still the error is there.

look forward to ur upgraded install file. if possible please reduce the manual modifications as much as possible cause it took me 2 hours just to edit those 5 templates changes in just one style and i have like 11 styles:d

So you see I use YAAS as well, it's on the right HOWEVER you see my Ranks Showcase? :D Not the text huh :D It's the 2142 Generals Stars on the left between my avatar and name ;)

How to do that is on the first page of this mod in post #3 or Click Here (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1648457&postcount=3).

Basically it's where you put it in postbit (or for some postbit_legacy) that determines how it displays! So tinker w/ that postbit template to make it show your YAAS and YARS how you want it to.... remember in between one line or the next is the key! Just read the info as it should help you achieve what you want from Post #3 where it describes how to make it display w/o the text etc. Ohh and it will display vertically if no border w/ text instead of horizontal ;).

Let me know if that helps! Don't fret if I'm not on before this weekend, I just have a lot going on so bare w/ me but next is that update for Nadeemjp else I would not be treating everyone fairly eh? Also I want to do that as I think it will help someone who posted a problem in the 3.6.8 thread for this mod!

** IF that does not work, I believe a solution is in order (slight syntax correction and some other fixes) which is about to be released this weekend!

So if your one of the 80+ who have downloaded and not clicked "Installed", now might be a good time to do so as I actually use the update feature here on VB.org to send out information on updates :D.

Hopefully that will solve some of the slight problems you few have encountered!

Any progress to limit the management of adding ranks down to super moderators or defined usergroups? I have upgraded my board to 3.7.4 however have had to disable this mod until a time when you add that capability.

Nadeemjp! I hope this helps!

- Upload all the files just like you did the first time.
(See the revised Install.txt for information)
- Re-import the product .xml and your ready to go!
- You DO NOT have to redo any template edits naturally as you have already done those.

Let me know if that fixed your problem, if not I might have to see if someone will give me access to their 3.7 board as we are on 3.6.8 (to many reasons not to update yet so...) but like I said hopefully this fixes a few things!

Update!

Sorry about this guys, one simple mistake on my part.

In line 3 of the XML product file I used & instead of AND (habit) so it was not importing!

Fixed!

- Removed the old YARS.0.0.2.1.zip and re-uploaded the correct package w/ the same name.
- Included the YARSxml.zip which is just the product itself.

also, at my site the awards used to appear as is attached n this post. what i wante is that instead of stacking up under moods and other information, the awards block should go on the left side of these informations. just like in the third black image you posted in your first post.

actually i wanted the awaed and rank showcase to come on the leftside as is in your attached images. and by left i dont mean towards the avatar, i mean just immediate left of the information like place, country, sign, rep power etc, the award and rank showcase should appear on the left of these stats instead of stacking underneath since this consumes too much of horizontal space. see my image attached. in this image u can see how much horizontal space is consumed.

I'm beginning to hate theses errors you guys are getting lol!

I will have to look into this... since I do not have 3.7 ( currently 3.6) then I will have to download the new Awards Mod 4.0 for 3.7 as I noticed the coder who created it said some changes had to be made for it to work properly with 3.7 and that's why he updated it (it had re-usable code as well...) so basically I have a few 3.7 users who it works fine for and other who must be above 3.7.3 RC1 which has a bug i.e. yours :(. Please bare w/ me as I try to figure out what the snag is however I will only release the new file as a test only i.e. I will need a guinea pig who knows how to backup their database to test the new beta version to confirm the error is in fact gone. I have a dummy/test forum I check most of my mods on before installing but it's turned off and only I know the IP ;) so basically it's fine for me to test w/ before I install it on the live site....I do not own a 3.7 version to test with so sorry about this and hopefully another 3.7 user can clue someone in on a solution with my help. I will most likely have this ready by next weekend due to RL commitments so please be patient.

So basically your telling me when you click their profile it errors?

If that's the case I need a copy of your MEMBERINFO template!

So let's double-check to confirm....

Postbit Template to help you figure out positioning.
MemerInfo Template to make sure the code is in the right place to finally fix the problem.

If that is in fact the case please forward a copy of your MEMBERINFO template to me via PM as well.

Sorry if this is blatantly stated, but I didn't see it listed. One thing that would draw me to installing this mod, would be if it allowed users to select from multiple ranking systems from their edit options menu or something similar.

As for the error, yes when i click the profile button it appears on the top of the screen and does nothing else but appear. Meaning, the error itself doesnt compromise anything, it just appears which becomes annoying and fearful at times and that is it. so you need memberinfo template? Ok buddy I shall pm it to you today.

Now that should help! Also it can give an indication to all the other users how to do the same and the similar code for the Awards Mod that so many are having problems getting to display how they want it to, just swap out the code with the award code and achieve a similar affect!

Nadeemjp, next up is your MEMBERINFO template however I'm not 100% sure that's the culprit so bare w/ me and I'll post again ASAP on the issue.

Sorry if this is blatantly stated, but I didn't see it listed. One thing that would draw me to installing this mod, would be if it allowed users to select from multiple ranking systems from their edit options menu or something similar.

Is this possible in the mod?

Multiple Ranking Systems = No, there are different categories though but that's as far as it goes! Funny you mention that though, I was thinking last week about that.... Our site has this mode to give ranks to soldiers only problem is I want it to be viewable by army officers and then they can view who is up for what rank/award etc until approved so they can agree/contest etc. but we have a COD4 & 2142 plus a soon to be COD5 Tournament and I want each to have the option of viewing but in different threads etc. and similar to what your requesting! SO w/ that said it might be in a future release as I want it myself but time does not permit me most of the time. Hopefully I get to this sooner rather than later!

That seems like a simple error i.e. perhaps they typed in their name wrong etc. So for eaxample on our sites we used to have ARMY members wear tags and if they received a promotion and changed their name i.e. [63X]SD|Cpt.TheLastSuperman to [63X]Gen.TheLastSuperman after the user who submits it and before you click approve it will not work.

I'll review your code when I get home and have a response ASAP on that but more than likely at the same time I resond to Nadeemjp. Sorry for the delay but w/ Thanksgiving and all I can't be on the computer much else the wife will kill me lol.

Ok, now remember I do not have a 3.7 Board and most 3.7 users have no problems but some of you do.

TRY the newly upload file above named --> ranksPHPfix.zip

Just upload the NEW ranks.php into your forum Root folder and test it out!

Also the original one is included for reference although it has a OEM prefix in it.

Let me know if that fixes your problem!!!!

It was a test fix ;)

I hope to have this sorted out by this weekend, I have two testers will you be willing to help squish this bug once and for all? :D

Let me know, next ranks.php will not be hosted from here to keep confusion down, I will provide a link for DL off my server for the test and once it's all worked out then I upload to vB.org :D

Basically I believe it will require similar changes as Xalamin did w/ his conversion of the Yet Another Awards Mod when he converted it form Hancho's 3.6 to a 3.7 ver. I remember him stating there were some slight changes required but my initial tester on 3.7.3 PL1 was fine but some others are not so time to adjust w/ similar changes and then we should be good :D.

Agreed... 3.8 is slightly different so I will let someone TEST but I know there will be some issues. I'm trying to squeeze this in but I have 4 comp's to fix this weekend and one of em' has some nasty virus's so it's down to manually checking the registry now :( (I hate that part lol) and also replacing several .dll's!

Ok... the computers slowed my progress this weekend as one was very bad off :(

Long story short... I have talked w/ a friend who has a 3.7.4 board - he is giving me access to test and work out all the bugs and that saves you volunteers from having to test plus allows me to do it quicker and solve ALL the display problems! SO bare w/ me as it will be next weekend before I get started ;).

Also on the 3.8 question NadeemJP... well that same friend said he would be upgrading too so I have been given permission to test it then (have to help them setup the new install but easy ;)).

So, sorry for the late reply this weekend but I have been busy :erm:. I'll see you guys regarding YARS next weekend!

Everyone, I have taken on a Paid Request in which I plan to make them very satisfied w/ the job so please bare w/ me as I work on this... unfortunately on the side but it is still supported I'm just letting all the installers know what's going on instead of seeing me online here w/ a client and not helping them as I said! You know that feeling of well he logged in yesterday but has not posted in his thread for 3 mos lol... Don't you just hate that ;)

Stand by for an update, I appreciate install #36 :D but please be aware per my post above it fully works in 3.7.3 PL1 per previous installers but has a bug in 3.7.4 until fixed.

HOW TO MAKE IT WORK IN vBulletin 3.7.5 ;)

First of all guys, you need to check, if you set everything up, for example, as i do, let them request an Award and letting it post in a Thread.
The Thing was, that for soemr eason the URLw as corrupted and said "Please complete requested Fields" so I fixed it with Help OF TheLastSuperman ;)

Here it goes: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! ONLY TESTED ON 3.7.5!

Install the Thingy normally how the Instructions stated above and in the readme file!

Search in templates: "ranks_request_formanswers" > Open the template

SEARCH FOR

$vbphrase[rank_request_recipient_name] : /member.php?u=$user_recp_id] $rank_request_recipient_name ($vboptions : /member.php?u=$rank_request_recipient_name] $rank_request_recipient_name ($vboptions[bburl) SEARCH FOR

rankuserid=$user_recp_id[userid] REPLACE WITH

rankuserid=$rank_request_recipient_nameSO! -> the URL in your Thread will be displayed and all required Fields will be filled out, so it will delete the post and approve the Rank with one time, without having the time to give a Error ;D

AND NOW HERES THE TRICK! PLEASE DO NOT INSERT[B][U] THE MEMBERNAME IN THE FORM, INSTEAD INSERT THE USERID, WHICH IS EASYILY FOUND FROM THE RECIPIENT IN THE FORM;)
Recipient Username -> INSERT USER-ID!!! REMEMBER

Please use to isntall the YAAS 0.0.2.1 File and its content.
If you need Rank Images, please download the UnBranded Ranks Images YAASRANKS.ZIP and put these into the specific folder via FTP Opload ;)

Iny my opinion there will be a new Version coming out soon with everything fixed and you should wait with isntall 2 more days ;)

Here comes the New Updated Version for a Fresh and Clean install where you DO NOT have to make any of the Fixes stated above.
please follow the readme and the template Edits in the Install file and the readme file to get it fully working.

If you download this, upload the new .xml file to your Prodcts and let it overwrite everything.
This will Fix the URL appreance AND the Box in the Request Form where it now says "Recipient User ID" instead of the old "Recipient Username" and its a bit smaller for letting you know :)

Updated the original mod post, download and install the xml again and copy files if you wish, it's the entire package again not a patch as there were beginning to be too many downloads and that would lead to confusion.

This version is for 3.7.+ and is no longer compatible with 3.6.x but the same mod is available using username instead of ID # in the 3.6 mods found here --> https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=193822

Well think about it.... make the normal icon a larger image and the normal image a small icon size and your done, that's called tricking it to do what you want it to do.

I use about 1/4 of the mods I download for their intended purpose and I usually alter them dramatically to suit my needs but always leave or keep any branding i.e. links to the authors site or his name if it was already there and in this case I have no branding in it as sometimes that takes the appeal out if it plain and simple.

When you have time Matt, another thing too everyone is... if you have the request posting in an admin only forum etc for approval then make the forum permissions reflect such so yes to follow moderation rules and allowed to post BUT not to view, that way it will work 100%!!

Hye i have installed the plugin on my site.

I was hoping to see if it would be possible in the next update to have a function so whilst viewing a user in the AdminCP you can award them a rank similar to this.

I have a suggestion. You should add permissions so that we can specify what usergroups can manage this in the modcp. I would only want to allow certain groups who currently have modcp access to manage this specifically.

So walshymyster that's a maybe although which mod did that come from or ??

Let me know walshymyster asap so I can review the code and then you might have a new version released :D

this is a wonderful modification.
i was just wondering if it is possible to launch this officially in 3.8 as well so that i dont have to come in here again.

it is working though with 3.8 @ my forums. except for that little annoying error that i am facing:(

I believe we have fixed it, I just had a PM regarding this... I tell you what I will go ahead and post it before I launch my own 3.8 forums that are about to be purchased but until then it will not be supported as trying to deal w/ errors when I have no test forums to attempt a fix on is kinda silly and not very supportive to begin with. I have 3.8 releases out but they are just coding changes/additions... nothing major involving DB changes etc so I hope you understand my concern, especially for the non-experienced users!

Demo video on all my installs soon so look for them!

when receiving pm that a request has been made I click on the bb link and get page not found.
So i try going straight to approve_rank.php and still get page not found

also I noticed when i right click and choose properties for the approve link in the bb code part of the pm I see that it says myforums.com/approve_rank.php with a lot of rubbish instead of myforums.com/boards/approve_rank.php ......
It want to pull from another place other than my forums root directory...
make sense?

Man I am so sorry. I sort of got the approval thing to work. It approved one I tested just fine on myself. But would not approve one on others in usergroups I created. Is there something I can do to fix that?

I have yes in usergroup settings checked. Yet when they try they get data base error

No BUT you can code it in yourself as that is still in postbit ;)

Me too, on a 3.8 board yesterday and attempting a fix for a friend, I have line 161 though ;) so hold tight although the code via notepad++ @ line 161 is identical to the Awards mod!?!?!?!? So for now I'm stuck but it is still bugging me so hold tight!

Great fix, you removed some code you did not like as well, remember you could have simply removed the phrases and replaced w/ your own text and the links would still work!

Try moving it around a bit, it is very nice to see what you can achieve w/ your template! Ohh and check memberinfo and clean that template up as well, the friends site it fubared it but skim the code and tinker, you'll have it looking snazzy in no time.

Hmmm, check the install or readme files for reference to this and verify the BB Code installed autmatically in your bb code manager etc. Let me know :D

Pull from another place... I do and don't head is still filled w/ tonights trip to the hospital so let me get back to you as I investigate the friends forums! If anything sometimes it will error out, just refresh then view thier profile or a post and the Rank should bet there!

Refresh, refresh, refresh lol and try again... it still has some bugs in 3.8 guaranteed so bare w/ me as I resolve these on my friends site.

Thanks so much. And I have no idea how to do any of this code stuff... I guess I just got lucky:)
I am still working on the member info templates because I have a custom mod and the things I am supposed to look for are not there.

Also I tried to get the ranks to show up in a block on the member profile instead with no luck ...lol
But I tried.
I have no clue how to do any of this so I am happy you were not upset with my questions.
I will try the refresh for the data base error and let you know how it goes.

It was a friend, she was released early last week from the hospital after recovering from a heart attack :eek: but then had to go back w/ severe chest pains although her artery had mysteriously healed itself (miracle perhaps?) and she was supposed to be fine. Doctors are not sure what was causing the pain but good thing it is kinda a false alarm!

It's the ' in the name, the mod does not like Characters especially brackets etc. Additionally please note Chrakkers change where it needs the user id # instead of username ;)

Also read a few posts back i.e. the first 1-2 pages and in the description of this mod, I explained @ one point in time how you could tinker w/ it. And if your not a coder then your brain is built for it considering the simple yet not so simple for others edits you have performed - keep up the research, it will pay off in the long run w/ vB or phpBB etc.

We use this mod in a tournament setting, we run BF2142 and COD4 forums and users have ranks from one or if they participate in both then accordingly.

So yeah ;) just do the ranks how you want them, might even be a site that has some gfx for free use :D

3.8 users, everything is fine you just need to have the ranks fully setup including a few to issue as an example and then remove later but in order for everything to work properly set it all up before you use it - it's that simple :D

Thank you for providing this great mod, we're currently installing it on our own board and it''s invaluable for our purposes.
I've been wondering though, is there a way to order the ranks specifically in the memberlist? Just as now you can order names alphabetically etc, I'd like to be able for users to order the memberlist by highest to lowest rank.

Maybe... I never thought of that as there's so much more in vB you can use to sort ;) but if I have time this weekend I'll look into it for you.. I saw something recently on here that gave info on how to sort by certain things on memberlist.. need to find it.. although all we have are award ID's not which one is higher in rank so it might be tricky if let's say you add a rank @ a later date that is more of value than the highest rank you see? We'll see though :D

I have that on the list, currently doing many paid request so it might be a bit longer but the good news is I have taken the time to start updating this and plan on re-releasing for 3.7 and then finally releasing for 3.8 however I run this on 3.8 now including a version I modified of the 3.6 Awards by Hachno and have been able to retain the automatic creation of a thread for a one click approval of awards where as they have removed that and other features for some reason. The new version will have similar features as the new Awards System Modification but with a few extra options for customization. I've also started converting this into another form of product but you'll have to wait and be surprised by that ;)

No problem! I just tested it the other day and one or two bugs so pending those fixes it will be released however the sorting may not be in this version and remember I said it might not work at all in terms of importance of rank, it can already sort by issue date via the code but by importance would require some extra coding I just can't spare time for now :( but I did manage to squeeze in this update for 3.7 users and the release for 3.8 pending those bug fixes.

I HAVE LOVED this mod since I first installed it on one of my 3.7.x production boards a while ago. BUT, I had to uninstall when clients went to 3.8.x. I have multiple 3.8.4 production boards up for clients and I cant install a mod on ANY of them until it has been released for the current forum version they are running, so I am awaiting the release of the 3.8.x version !!

This version will work with 3.8, tested and verified, update coming asap see below.

Mmm hmm well check that title out under my name and click it ;) I have a few things, some have more and some I adore who release so much to all of us for free. If I had more free time I could honor my word like the update planned the other week :erm: but have to take care of business first as that takes priority and I aplogize for that. Hold tight and let me go over the updated version and prepare it for re-release on 3.7 & the first 3.8 release - I'm going to try and retain the functionality that has been lost to I guess what you could call a sister or cousin mod i.e. the Awards System as of the latest releases which is automatic post creation in a specified thread upon request, one-click url approval that will approve and grant the rank to the user with one click plus the ability to have it automatically display in a specified location depending on template OR the option to place manually in a desired location with instructions for side by side with another mod image/icons etc or most forms of codes. TBO and note this as you read, heavily modifying your postbit templates can cause problems if using mods or codes that pull from any site other than yours. Locally it reads the information quickly but external content and old codes even if it does exactly what you want and can't find another replacement etc may not be best for your forum, don't forget now ;). I'll have more info as it develops but I have previous engagements and other priorities to take care of at the same time I know, I know same ole' song and dance many have seen many post lol ahh the comedic relief as some call me but as I said hold tight let me get it done :D.

Basically this was made off re-usable code, before the Awards guys remade it off Hancho's old hack so yes it can be however not atm I'm too busy to fuss w/ it perhaps in the next few weeks I'll edit a version of that and re-release since it's marked as re-usable code ;).

Is this only for the horizontal postbit.... or does it also work with the vertical postbit?

Please do! I know alot of people who are waiting for an update for 4.x. I personally have had a great need for something exactly like this for my multigaming community I run. Having 20 different ranks for each game gets very time consuming for adding and removing based on user groups, and I have to give admin permissions to people who do it. If its like the awards system you can just give them mod status and that's all. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into this.

I know how hackers can kill your day and sometimes your month. That's awesome you have truley made my day. My community was trying to decide on which ranks to keep and others to throw out this will help smooth everything out and make alot of people happy.

Well good seems everyone will make it through this fine you be sure when it's released to go thank the current Awards modification developers... if it were not for the updated 4.x Award version I would not have spare time to redo it all for 4.x so they actually did most of the work! Again once I have it released just a simple thanks to them is all I ask for :cool:.
