I don't understand the question. "Set a post to count" what? What are you trying to count?

when a member post in a social group i would like it to count towards their post count :)

I dunno why they decided to make these new lists non-forums. I mean, how hard would it have been to make full featured forums for social groups? I understand there will be some improvements with 3.8; we'll see.

OTOH, be careful what you wish for. I've seen forums have to close down the social group lists because nobody was posting in the public forums any longer.
