If you are talking about advertising on vB.org, then i will have to disappoint you. There is nobody to talk to as we do not allow any advertising.

As Marco said, KK is still the coffee boy. :) I have learned to use the coffee maker by necessity. Jeremy is not fond of coffee and therefore lets the pot go empty on occasion. I do make great chocolate chip cookies though.
On the money issue though, not all sites care about making money. My server guy is always pushing me to put advertising on my site to make money, but I keep telling him there is no way I will ever do that. He just doesn't understand.

Lynne by the way welcome to team on vb.org :D gad to see you, I'd had you cookies as well but the upload on the site doesn't accept the cookie extention ...
as for banners I guess unless you can control the look of the banners why would you want to make your site look ugly ..

It was dismounted and not fond? How about a deep seated loathing of Coffee!

I think the question was badly phrased, and you all know it. If I might re-phrase: "How does vb.org afford a dedicated server?".

This site is owned and financially supported by Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd, and operated by volunteers...

With the money jelsoft makes with their software and other products they are more than capable of affording a server for their official modifications site. Because the majority of the content is community submitted, I doudbt it would go down very well if jelsoft made money from others peoples hard work.

Where would jelsoft be without the free community of designers/coders. Think of how many people would not have a license

I think imk did not phrased his question badly... you simply want him to phrase it different, but it's not to you to evaluate his bad language... we got used to all kind of phrasings here, and imk is not an extra-terrestrial...
anyway, there was too much answers for this already.
