** DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE **

* Automatic Monthly Reminder from vBulletin.org *

According to our records you have recently downloaded one or modifications that are not currently marked as installed.

Please take a few moments to review all your Downloaded Modifications (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/vborg_miscactions.php?do=showdownloaded&type=1)) and check if you have installed any of them on your forum(s).

If you are using any of the modifications, and have forgotten to mark them as installed, then you can do so by clicking on the blue 'Downloaded' link next to each modification title.

You can also find the 'Mark As Installed' link within each modifications information page.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications may be notified by the author whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to our attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps the author know how many people are using their work, giving them extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

If you have chosen not to mark these modifications then just ignore this reminder.

Downloaded modifications that have not been installed will only appear in the 'Downloaded Modifications' list for five weeks - and you will only be reminded about a downloaded modification once.

Thank you,

vBulletin.org Staff

It tells you how to turn off the notifications in the last line.....

or are you making comments regarding the grammar (I think someone needs to proofread that message!)? :D

I see how to remove it, and I've disabled it
and no, I didn't post it because the grammar, I would be the last person to critique the way someone post..lol

It just amazing me.. so now we can't even dl a mod to try it out without making it as installed, or be hounded.

it's just disappointing, that's all :(

The feature is a reminder for forum owners to click install so that they can be aware of any security vulnerabilities. It's not meant for spamming, and if you don't like it than disable the feature.

is it new? I've never had it before and I know I've downloaded files before to test and didn't click "install"

I received it today too, but I've been receiving it for the past year...

I just click installed-uninstalled because I consider them important/interesting for my board...

Yeah right, people leave because they get a monthly reminder.

JFYI, its been around for at least a year.

oh, and stop moaning about your infraction, if you had reported the thread instead of making some silly comment in it, you would not have got mistakenly infracted - and since it got reversed when the error was spotted, I fail to see what your problem is anyway. I guess some people just like to moan.

Paul, Sir..

if it's been around a year, they why have I never had this message before? I fail to believe this

and the infraction was certainly not reversed, or it wouldn't say 30 point infraction in my profile.

It's not that I like to moan, but I will not hold back when mistakes are Obviously made ;)

I can verify that I was receiving these messages for several months until I turned the option off in my User CP at the beginning of the summer. Have you changed your email, Loco?

(You might want to take the talk about the infraction to PM with Paul.)

I just love how staff always takes things around here personally and use their authority to have the last snide word in the form of a personal attack when they can.

Meanwhile, if the little people do it, infractions fly and posts disappear.

But I doubt that stuff flies out in public, right? It's harder face to face to be tough guy.

I don't really care about the infraction, it will expire next month, and danny was the who gave it to me.

Either way, I've disabled the message, so hopefully I don't get it again :)

( and nope, this is the same email I signed up with )

Thanks for the help Lynne and everyone else

if it's been around a year, they why have I never had this message before? I fail to believe thisBelieve what you like. :) I wrote it so I know when it was implemented (Aug 2007 (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1320938)).

and the infraction was certainly not reversed, or it wouldn't say 30 point infraction in my profile.

You are correct, the mistake is I've confused your infraction with another. My apologies for that.

I just love how staff always takes things around here personally and use their authority to have the last snide word in the form of a personal attack when they can.Great isnt it :)

I particularly love the way some members think they can just moan, complain, make their own snide/rude remarks and think the staff will just sit here and ignore it.

The system seems to be hit and miss because some months I get the email but many I don't...

I get it every month, like clockwork, and have been receiving it for quite a while.

You will only receive it if you have qualifying mods.

I guess I do, because I have some downloaded, some installed, some tagged, etc etc., and I get the email every month.
Sure doesn't bother me though. It just reminds me what I have set aside to look at, what I have installed somewhere, and what I have downloaded to look at more closely.

Exactly!

I just joined... last month I think? Aye the memory is shot lol but that's why this email helps!

I have downloaded a few and only some are not installed as I could not get them to work how I wanted to or have not tweaked them yet to be how I want them SO it's nice to get a reminder and once I actually get the ones just right I have not marked installed on, well then I have a email as reference so I can give credit where credit is due!

I don't think that aggravation EVER came to mind when they decided to implement this, in fact it should be considered more useful by members than anything else but that's up to interpretation and like I always say this post is just IMO i.e. my 2 cents and I'll gladly give a refund ;)

I got a mail just like that.

Then I clicked Install on the Mod, because there was no reason not to click it, since I had infact installed it.

So I don't mind the notification one bit, ty for reminding me that I forgot to click it VB!

I just received the reminder, but I don't have any Downloaded Mods, at least, that's what the Downloaded Modifications page tells me.
