Is it a good idea to turn off the vBulletin Archive. I have heard that it is a good idea.

Could some please let me know if this is a good idea nad why it is or is not.

For the most part the archive is useless, however if you read the entire article there is no proof either way.

Instead 301 redirect from the archive links to the full thread links. vBSEO has a feature for that. I thought there was a modification released here for that some where, try searching for "Archive Redirect" or something simliar in the mods.

There are no files it creates. Its all ran from /archives/index.php to handle everything
