Ok, I feel like a total idiot here...
I am a total noob... I have installed 2 different styles so far... and both are having the same problem. The logo is missing at the top, all the buttons are missing. I know I must be missing something somewhere, but I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I made sure the path's in Stylevars is correct, but still it's not showing up. It's probably something stupid I am missing... what can it be?
Here is what it looks like now: http://www.forum.yakkityyaks.com/
Oh and the bg is missing too....

Your site is set to show the default vb site and not to allow guests to view other styles, so I'm not seeing anything unusual with your default vb style.
Check the page source for your style and make sure that the place where it *thinks* it is looking for images really is where the images are.

Told you I was a complete Noob LOL
Ok I think I enabled users to select other styles now, plus tried to make "Autumn" as the default. Can you see what I'm talking about now? http://www.forum.yakkityyaks.com/
btw... thank you for the help!

Yes, I can see them now. And don't worry about being a n00b, cuz despite what some may want you to believe, we were ALL there are one time!
OK, looking in the page source to see the location for the image that should be in column next to Announcements, I see this:
<img src="images/styles/autumn/statusicon/forum_new.gif" alt="" border="0" id="forum_statusicon_7" />
However, going to http://www.forum.yakkityyaks.com/images/styles/autumn/statusicon/forum_new.gif
I am getting "The requested URL /images/styles/autumn/statusicon/forum_new.gif was not found on this server." So, the image does not exist right there. So, the question is, where have you put the images?

I had put them where the author of the style said to... in the main forum root/images/styles/autumn
There are three folders under autumn: buttons, misc and statusicon
There is a forum_new.gif in the status icon folder.
Again, thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated.

But they aren't there. root means your base folder - usually public_html - the same folder that all your files are in. There should already be an images folder, so you just need to create the /style folder and the others to go in there.

It said in the directions... this is quoted from there...
# Open your ftp client to your server. Go to your forum's images folder, open it, and create a styles folder.
# Next, upload the autumn folder via FTP to the styles folder, so that your image path is images/styles/autumn/buttons, for example.
So I made a styles folder, under the images folder in the forum folder. Isn't that right?

It *sounds* correct, however I can't see the images, so something is not correct.
How about folder permissions? You should be able to select the folder /styles and get information on it and it will tell you what the permissions are. Check that your permissions are at 755. I can't help with questions regarding your ftp client though unless it is Transmit on a Mac.

I am on a Mac.. I used Filezilla.
The permission is set to 755. I swear... this makes no sense to me. I have to have done something really dumb I guess! lol

Is there anyway you can take a screen shot of the file structure? Something is off here and I'm sure it's just a simple thing.

Well, I went and deleted the two styles I had installed, and re-installed a total different one and it seems to work. I have no idea what was going on before.
The style I installed now though said it was for 3.7.X.... but when I logged into admin CP, it said something about an error that could cause problems... I don't see anything wrong with my board though. Should I be concerned about that?

Well, it really depends on the error. I can't tell you if you should be concerned or not since you didn't post the exact error.
