Background

I was wondering if u could make a mod that can disable post count if replying in one section but enable post count whencreating threads?

I've beenrequesting this like from 15 other coders but well ending up taking charge for 250 - 600 usd :( was wondering if ucould help out with the ppl who want the similar feature like that

The thing is my forum got lots of spammers but those who actually aint spamming creates constructive threads and i hate to see that they dont get any post count

I finally got some free time to fulfill your request. Here we go. :)

What this mod does
It prevents post count increase for the specified usergroups and on specified forums.

Feature:
Option to restore a user post count to actual value as reported in the database

Installation instructions

Version 1.0.


Uncompress the archive
Upload the content of the "upload" folder into your forum root directory
Import the "product-prevent_post_count" product via your ACP: ACP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Product -> Add/Import Product
Adjust the mod settings as you see fit by specifying usergroups and forums ID.
ACP -> vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Prevent Post Count Mod
5. Save the specified settings

but, it is not the same that change Count Posts Made in this Forum Towards User Post Counts in forum setting? (excep by the usergroups)

the difference btw this mod and vb default settings is that with this mod you can disable the post replies post count but not when you create threads. When you create threads you get post count increased.

this is quite handy feature when there are members who create constructive threads on forumsections and especially to a section where members only posts non constructive forum replies

i've been looking for this mod for a long time!instaled and voted for MOTM

EDIT:The mod works perfects but it have some problem, when you delete a reply post from a user it drecrese his post count, so he reply a post and he gets +0 post count, but when you delete his reply it takes 1 post count down, can you fix this problem?i hope you had undertand what i wrote

Just a question.

When I install this and mark a forum to prevent post counts, does it recount for previous posts at the same forum ? Or just posts made after this mod installation will be not counted ?

Question: Is there a way to reset all post count and re-count all of them based on this mod permissions ?

It doesnt work for me. It says that this is a duplicate post in the last few minutes and you are redirected. It posts the reply you type, but also adds a post increase.

This is a MUST HAVE hack!!!!

I have a rule on my board where members must say hello (and present themselves) before they can post on the forums....

PLUS, there are other sections where members MUST have a minnimum post count before they can post!

This hack is great, but has one flaw:

When you reply with QUOTE, it's bypassed the hack and the post is counted.

Please fix this to make it perfect.
