don't most people just post the reason if they want to leave a reason eg. Thread closed. or bla bla bla thread closed.

oh well, I guess some people might find a use for this. Still kind of a strange request.

One action is better than two, so why post a reply and then close it when you can use this mod to just close it and leave a reason.

My mods have enough to do without having to reply and tell them all as well.

Instead of putting the forum ids you want to disable this hack, would it be possible to only enable this for only one forum or two, without having to put all ids in the current field

We have lazy mods :o Remind them as we might, many just close and move along without indicating who or why with a reply :\ This hack helps address that, but I would also add the request to include "closed by"

I'm on the same setup of 3.7.4 PL1, installed fine and once I'd updated all the lines in the SHOWTHREAD template for my current styles (as indicated with the installation instructions) it's showing the reason fine. Did you also add that line after "t<!-- / toolbar -->" to show the "$reason" ?

This would be great if it showed who closed it as well. It would also be better if it showed the message in a better looking spot. eg. down the bottom instead of at the top.

In addition to the Reason... I also added the person who closed the thread along with the date. Works very well on my forum

I like this hack, however, would it be possible for it to replace the last post info of the thread with:
Thread Closed by Gaara (example)
Thread Bumping

Maybe a derivative version should be made of this hack, I like it. But it has too many bugs and template edits in it.
