Moderate threads created by new members

Is it possible to set it so that threads started by members with a certain amount of posts are moderated?

Sure, just turn the Registered Users group into a moderated usergroup, make a new usergroup that is non-moderated and use promotions to move users from the Registered Usergorup to the new group after X posts.

Usergroup Manager > select usergroup > Follow Forum Moderation Rules > No
If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue



Here is a more detailed list of things to do that I wrote before for someone else:

Go to Usergroup Manager > Add New Usergroup
Create Usergroup Based On - Registered Usergroup > Go
Give it a new name - Registered Users - Approved
Create Permissions Based off of Usergroup > Registered Usergroup
Save

Now make a Promotion (Usergroups > Promotions)
Add New
Usergroup - Registered Users
Posts - 1 (or however many posts are needed)
Promotion Strat - Posts
Type - Primary
Move to - Registered Users - Approved
Save

Usergroup Manager - go to edit Registred Users
Follow Forum Moderation Rules - No
Save

I appreciate your help but I only want threads to be moderated....not posts. Is that possible?

I don't think it is possible with default vb. You might trying searching in the modifications for something like that.

correct me if im wrong....but a new user that creates a thread will still count as a new user that makes a post, so in theory what Lynne said is correct

Correct. If you have a user in a usergroup where you have Follow Forum Moderation Rules set to No, then any post they make, whether it be in a thread or starting a thread, will get put into the Moderation Cue.

I'm surprised this can't be done......considering you can do some much other things in vB. Maybe something they should include in next release. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a mod either for it. Please let me know if you stumble across one. I really appreciate your help. Thanks!
