when someone signs up on my forums, the email its sposed to send does not get sent out. so no one who signs up can get onto my forums. how do i get it so that it send out the email? i ran the test email thing and that worked just fine but, it just wont work right.

Have you checked your mail logs, have you checked the "Spam" folder?

I didn't fix it my self but I'll ask what my friend did to fix it. update it soon as I do.

yes i had them check every were and nothing.

i get alot of contact us email from my new members about that, and i always have to them to check there spam folders..maybe you have to relay that same info to them.

Server mail logs. If mail is rejected, the rejecting server will send back a response.

no responses back yet, ive been haveing them check spam and all that good stuff for the diff mail clients. idk maybe one of you guys could sign up and let me know if you get the email?

You need to start by checking /var/log/mail_log. You should tail that while doing a few tests so you can see what is happening.

Its the Server. from what he told me the Server Admin email should be the same as the vB email.
also its something to do with the Gen Forum settings, changing the Forums location will fix that. Sorry for the later response.
Try that.

could not tell you. would you try to sign up on my forums and see if u get an email? and if so tell me what email u use "yahoo,aol,msn,......"

Isn't too hard to register an account on those free email services yourself and test it. ;)

see when i do it, it works fine for me so i NEVER have issues getting emails so i would like some JOE BLOW to make and account and test it out

well they told me how to do it i did it but wont know unless soemone tells me they get the email now lol
