How Do I Make A Skin Wider Or Thiner

I cant seem to find where i make the skin wider or thiner like in ipb its in the large css wraper but i have no clue in this.

Admincp > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > your style > ( all style option) hit go >

Sizes and Dimensions

Main Table Width (pixels or percentage)
(This is the width of the table that contains all your vBulletin content)
change it to your desired 100%, 800, 900 ....

One problem with this under the style part it says "(Customized in this Style)" under almost all the options than when i make it larger just the backround gets bigger...its not the default vb skin. is there a way to get to it in the php?
