Hello Everyone,
What an amazing and talented group of designers here. I wish I had 1/1000th of the talent! Anyway, I hope designers aren't forgetting that businesses look for designs too. Thousands of businesses. Of course many opt for custom designs but this doesn't have to be the case if there were more professional based designs out there. I think gaming sites are abundant and so are the same skins they often use. This is why I think this niche for designers is quickly running it's course and designers of these types of skins are going to begin to lose money if they don't realize this and begin to shift to accommodate the needs of other niches. Know what I mean?
I'm hoping designers will begin to focus more on cleaner, streamlined, simplistic, more business appropriate skins and not the over-used, often over the top(graphic-wise) stuff that's currently out there. It seems as though I'm seeing the same thing over and over again. Big thick bright graphics that take up most of the header and I think overwhelm the whole forum.
I'm a firm believer that less is more and if you look at some of the most active vbsites, they are fairly basic. Here are a few. (excluding perfect examples as both vb forums) These are the top search results using terms "powered by vbulletin" and as you can see, they aren't over the top in terms of graphics. They are simple in design and structure.

I certainly don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but as a owner of several business and a frequent forum user the use of excessive graphics is really a huge turn off and I'm not likely to visit that forum again.
Thank so much for reading my post and I hope everyone is having a wonderful day:)
Linda
I think I may have put this in the wrong area. Sorry.. Not sure were to post this other than designs. :D
