[Coroner]

What is it ?
You see the way vBulletin create a Post for a Modification. You like it ? With this AddOn you can do it also. It's not for everyone, but ... try it out if you like.

What does it do ?
Simular the same as here on vBorg. But I mixed it with vBGo.

...How does it works ?
Mod-System is very easy to use. After installing and setting the Userrights go to the Settings and choose one or more forums as a Mod-Forum. Now each "new Thread" will shown as here on vBorg. You can donate the Author, Mark as Installed/Uninstalled, Tag the Mod, Send Updates automatically or manually or nominate for MOTM. MOTM is also avaible and works full automatically !

What's different between vBorg and vBGo
On vBGo you see the Categories (those are the Prefixes) - more later. There is a ProfileTab for your Modifications and some other different things. On vBGo you can have a "user defined" Licence. I will let the Admin to create more, so the Author can choose from different Licences.

Userrights for the Mod-System (isn't in use)
Userrights for Donation
Userrights for Licences
Userrights for MOTM
Userrights for Certified SealGeneral Settings
MOD-System on/off
Donation on/off
MOTM on/off
Choose Forums for the MOD-System (It was a little bit tricky to create a Multiselect-Row in the vB-Options)
Polloptions (how many MOD's stands for MOTM)
Poll-Forums (you need a Forum to select for those polls)
User/Bot (he will create the polls and if you like, he also sends the PM/Email)
vB Versions (create as many vBulletin Versions as you like, the Author can choose one of it)
Licences (create a "user defined" Licence or choose one of the existing (the Admin has to create some first))Donation
If enabled and the permission is given, each User can set his options into the UserCP. Currency, Amount and PayPal-Email-Address. Donation is then only avaible in Mods, when the Email-Address exists.

Licence/s
A "user defined" Licence can also create in the UserCP (if enabled and the permission is given).
Each User can create only one "user defined" licence. If the Admin create more, the Author of a Mod can choose one Licence from all of it for his Modification.

Modification of the Month
Works also very simple. Each month, a User can nominate Mods as he like during the month. At the end of month, the best nominated Mods are taken for the MOTM-Poll. There must be a minimum of 2 Mod for the poll, otherwise no poll is created. Ok, now you have 30 days (or if a new month starts earlier - like February - the poll is closed automatically) to vote for a Mod.
The best Mod will become MOTM. A MOTM can't nominate again.

Update Notification
"Send Update" only appears, if a User set to "manual notification". If the Author clicks on it, ALL Users will inform about the Update (if he has clicked the Installed-Button before). A automatically notification will only send, if the Author change the Mod-Version to a higher one.

Prefix
There is no need for Prefixes. But if you create you own Prefixes for the Mod-Forums, the Auhtor can choose it and it will shown as a Category in the Post.

I didn't get the permission to use the Images from here (vBorg). So I've created some own. Change them if you like.

added: Donload Logs. You can disable it in the Options

You will found the modules in the "extra" folder. You need to upload the PHP in the "includes" folder, too. All modules are XML - simply import the XML with vBCMS or CMPS and make your settings. A module is only present, when MOD-System is online and contents for the module is avaible.

Pls, take a look at the READ.ME. There are a few new entries for manual Templateedits.

With this version comes a "new" forum statistic only for modifications. If this statistic is not shown in your style, pls check out the TEMPLATE-HOOK called: forumhome_wgo_pos5 in template: FORUMHOME.

By installing the product (you need to upload the files first - or overwrite existsting), some settings will delete and generate again. This is nessesary, 'cause there could be an error message.
Maybe the browser will refresh twice - that's correct and means, that the options are generated.
Go into the MOD-System settings and check 'em out.
You'll found a handfull new options like: MOD forums or Style forums.
With this, you can now split your general MOD forums into 2 parts (like here on vBorg).
Another one is the USERTITLE option. With the installation, I've created some Coder/Designer Levels based on the installcount of all the Users MODs.
I'll give you a small example:
User XYZ has 5 Installs - 2 Installs for a Code Mod and 3 for a Style Mod. His usertitle is called: "happy User" and now ... back to the option: "Replace" or "Add". With 1 install for a Mod, the user gets a new "MOD usertitle" - if you choose "Add" his new usertitle is called:
happy User/Coder/Designer and by "Replace" Coder/Designer.
The last two Options
Leave them as they are !!! Both options will change by SCHEDULED TASK. If you really want to try, do it in your Testforum. Here also a little explaination:
You've created some Mods - wow - *g. Ok, try to nominate a mutch a you like (a minimum of 2 MODs is required). Enter AdminCP and set "start MOTM" to YES. Back in forum, refresh your browser or click anywhere to refresh your forums. If anything goes right, a new thread is create. You have nominated more than 2 mods - there will be also a poll. If not, the thread only sayed, that there wasn't enough nominations.
Ok, we have a poll. Simply vote for a Mod
(example with 3 polloptions)
Mod AAA = 0 votes
Mod BBB = 1 votes
Mod CCC = 0 votes
Now, nominate again ... nominate also the Mod BBB :)
In AdminCP set "start MOTM" to YES again. Back in forum refresh again and ...
... anything goes right, again ...
Mod BBB is now MOTM and can't nominate again. A new thread is also created with a poll but ... the Mod BBB isn't in there !

Coder/ Designer Level:
With this, you can create Levels based by installcount of Mods.
I've create 9 Levels for each. Release Level 1 ... 9. Each Level has a min. and a max. count.
Level 1 = 1 - 50
Level 2 = 51 - 100
...
...
Level 9 = 401 - 0
The lowest Level MUST begin with 1 and the highest MUST end with 0. Make sure, that there is no overlap !

Update Counters:
There are only 4 options. The first one - is to create missing settings (the "extra" folder from v1.4 doesn't exists any longer). You can now create this in the AdminCP.
The next three options, are for the datastore.
Usertitle, Mod statistics needs NO queries. If you think, that something goes wrong with the counters, try to cache them first.

Forum Mod Statistic:
Will only shown, if a minimum of 1 installs is set to any user.
Top Coders: only the best top 5 will shown (there is also a min. of 1 install require)
Top Designers: see Top Coders
(the count in () after the username shows his installcount)
Top MOTM: only avaible if there is a MOTM (the count in () after the username shows his MOTM count)
Code MODs, Style MODs, Coders and Designers:
If avaible, you can click on it (same as here on vBorg, but ...
Code MODs and Style Mods will show the threads).

UserCP:
Here you will found 4 new Options:

View Tagged Mods
View Installed Mods
View Nominated Mods
View Downloaded Mods

I think, those options doesn't need any explanation.

After creating the Thread-Post (I seperate the Settings from the Post - like here on vBorg), the next page will show you the Settings of your Mod.
Al lot of more as on vBGo and here you can enter Supporters/CoAuthors - but they don't have permission to change the Mod and attachments.

Nope, that's not my reason. He found small things and told me.

I'll test all version on my 3.7.3 test and my official. The attached version is the same.
Some things won't work, if the CSS is missing.

there were a lot (*shame on me*)

Installed/nominate eg. there was a bug if AJAX isn't enabled - but fixed in v1.3
The Image will display only for authors and if you edit "postbit" or "postbit_legacy"

So, found two other "small" bugs.
1. Im AJAX for Firefox was an "&" missing.
2. how to explain .... at the first time I saw a mod and would like to install or nominate, it won't work - also fixed.

I have now tested under 4 Browsers (THAT'S ENOUGH !)
Firefox, Opera, IE and Safari
On ALL those Browsers I can see the INSTALLED-Image, if you can't, check out your postbit or postbit_legacy.

Next: the "double-text" at the end (under show your support), again on ALL 4 browsers anything is correct.

I will upgrade in a few minutes and hope that all is now OK.

i found this Error in VB OPTIONS: VB Options >> Modification System >> Choose Forums for the MOD-System. You can do a multiple choice of Forums.
All Forum-Permission will NOT changed ! Some Tools are disabled in MOD-Forums (e.g. Hybridmode, Sticky Thread ...). >> multiselect:eval = construct_forum_chooser_options(1);

Edit: nevermine just because forgot to enable it in Manage Products.

You can edit the template an delete the seetings. after saving all "cleared" values will have 0

How does MOTM work ?
Again, will give me a try to explain on an example:

current month: september

All users can nominate as many mods as they like. All those nominations are for October - not September.
1st of October:
I'll check out the best 5 (standard) nominated mods (a minimum of 2 is required) and create a poll thread (that's why the poll forum is needed). All nominations will reset back to zero.

Now, we're in October.
Again, all users can nominate as many mods as they like (nominations for November).
1st of November:
I'll check the current poll first. And will set the MOTM for October.
Then I'll create the poll-thread for november and reset all nominations.

1.) what do you mean ? sorry, don't understan the question right.
always threadid 1 or anyhing else ?

2.) bginstalled iis found in postbit or postbit_legacy. Do you edit those templates or do you use TMS ? and ... only the author can see INSTALLED

3.) admin edit: I''ll do it this mornig in a rush - test it for a short while - works and was thinking it was right. You have to know, the admin can only edit the posting NOT the settings. I think there's no reason for admin to edit the authors settings

When I'm back from work, ii'll take a look in the product and do a post with changes to do it - so, if anyone like, he can do it himself.

I'll promised that I will tell you how to add the mod-setting permission for admins.

here it comes - open the file modsystem_miscactions.php and search for:
if ($thread['author'] == $vbulletin->userinfo['userid']) $show['owner'] = true;
change the line into:
if ($thread['author'] == $vbulletin->userinfo['userid'] OR can_moderate($thread['forumid'], 'canmoderateposts')) $show['owner'] = true;

that's all.
Remeber, all users with permission to moderate, can do it too.

hi,

I can confirm ajax does work fine on forumdisplay.php you can click install and it will change (just like you can click the threadicon to lock it through ajax) it looks like ajax is working.For an issue like this i always use firefox with the firebug addon (it allows you to see the ajax response) and it's easier to find what might be wrong

attachments also work fine at my borad don't have a problem with it

in the mod thread itself it is indeed not using ajax if you click install / uninstall

I don't know if Coroner would mind me doing this and if you guys are any bit interested at all in what i have to say..

but i've installed this mod and turned it into excellent feature for my classifieds section.
The Modification mod has now become my sellers' product and details description add-on. complete with the ability to select product condition replacing vbulletin version as well as other fields included in the modifications mod. i absolutely love this!

I'm no coder so i'm not sure whatever i've modified would cause any problems.
so i'm still testing this with the users. If they hate it or report too many bugs, i will have it removed.

but, GREAT WORK, coroner. Thanks for this!

Sorry, for the next Update.
I fixed three bugs, before I start in holiday on saturday.

MOTM poll. I forgott to insert the "poll create option" in the product
Images and downloads. There was really a bug. On my Forum it doesn't worked, too
Shown "Doube" or "Triple" Post. This bug was on my forum, too. I think, it comes when the author clicks "installed" and the user who posted hasn't.While im on holiday for 10 days, I can't fix any other problem (if there was others).
But the next version will be v2.0

2) when you click "support Developer" nothing actually happens ?? (yes the donations are enabled + the user permissions are correct)

3) i still cannot see the f****king bginstalled.gif image (yes the template is edited)

4) support developer points to showthread.php?t=1234&nojs=1#moddonate i have a feeling this is not correct btw i have javascript enabled ....

5) the inlinemod checkbox is missing (pretty easy to add)

I did have this working and then my host changed nameservers , I assume he changed servers and now this is not working, I have uninstalled it and re installed it about 10 times now and nothing, all settings are correct yet it just doesnt show in the forum, you get all the different options you can select when adding a new mod but once posted there is nothing it just looks like a normal post. I am useing TMS so I know the template edits are fine. I also notice that you cant change the settings via the mod options in admincp (left side) I have to go into vbulletin options and scroll down the list until I get to the mod system and change the settings. If I try to do it from the left side I just get a blank page

I would suggest you remove this mod from the general public until you actually fix the bugs, or mark it as BETA. Either way, my whole site is totally unusable.

EDIT: Further investigation suggests this issue is generated by multi polls being created in the poll forum. Issue allowed me to view the forum for a while before continuing its behaviour.

You saved me. lol It tried to make a Mod Of The Month thread, but there werent any entries and it broke my board completely. Thank goodness I remembered that someone had posted a way to disable all the mods so I could get in there and disable this one.
