Selective Moderator Hiding?

I want to assign a subforum to a user who belongs to the Registered Users group to moderate, but don't want this user to be displayed in Moderator list in the Forum leaders page

How do I do this? I reckon I must do something to the showgroups.php file, but I have no idea what should I be looking at, or what I should be editing.

Btw, I am using vBulletin 3.6.5, if it helps :)

We are running vBulletin 3.8.5 and would like to do the same thing. I realize this thread is old, but would really like to do the same thing. Can anyone help?
