Strip Image link between - IMG Code...

Is there a way to remove the image link

ie: http://www.comics.com//comics/getfuzzy/archive/images/getfuzzy2008016303912.gif

Between the img code when using strip_bbcode? Right now it removes the [.img] portion but leaves link ... which messed up my layout. Any ideas?
