How to make Header adjust accordingly?

I just designed my first header, which I just posed on my new vB forum: AffiliateMilitia.com

I made it 1000×300 pixels, but the only problem is that it doesn't adjust accordingly with the size of the page...

Does anyone know how to make it so when you lengthen the width of the forum the header adjusts accordingly? The fixed numbers just aren't working.

they never will, break ur header into 2 parts..
fluid background and logo.
the Fluid background auto covers the width or resolution of screen and ur logo on top of it. so it gives fluid header look.
