How can I make the tag field mandatory for the person initiating a thread?

You can't; they'll simply type gibberish. Better to use one of the auto-tagger mods.

Actually, I think most people who are starting a thread won't type gibberish. In a mature forum, OP's have an inherent stake in the thread.

Anyways, I would still like to know if this is possible by any kind of modification? Anyone else?

I've been looking for the same thing. Instead of using auto tagger which will be very inaccurate, the OP would be the best person to tag their threads.

Has been any mod for this?
