Hi Everyone, forgive me if this has already been covered elsewhere on this site.

OK, what I am trying to do is basically change the domain of my vbulletin forum. Currently my Forum is set up at

public_html/forum

This is where everything on my forum is located. I have purchased a new domain (newdomain.com) and using cpanel have added it as an add on domain on my server so I now have

public_html/newdomain.com
public_html/forum

Basically what I want to do is move everything from public_html/forum to public_html/newdomain.com so that the entire url of my site will change to www.newdomain.com.

I have tried using ftp to simply download and upload to the new directory but it seems a lot of the files are lost during the process, I'm sure it's more involved than this (or maybe i'm just over complicating it).

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, and please bear in mind this is my first vbulletin site and it's very much an ongoing learning process for me so try to speak slowly.

Thanks, in advance for your help guys and girls..

You can just upload a fresh copy of the vBulletin files onto the server. The files do not change. Just make sure you change the URL in the Admin CP as well as the vBulletin Members' Area.
