Does anyone know if it is possible to use the profile pic instead of the Avatar next to names when commenting profiles and in the friends list?
I have Avatars switched off on my forum so want to get rid of the constant ? messages and want to use the Profile Picture to identify all members with.
Thanks.

I don't really get it. You turned off a buildin feature and now you want a modification to make something that is designed to be used differently to be used as the disabled default feature?
This does notmake much sense to me, why not turn on the Avatars again?

I have a similar requirement.. we do not use avatars... but users have profile pics, would like to show those...
for the ?, you can do it by replacing a gif file, unknown.gif i think, with a blank image file... that way nothing would show...
but again, profile pic is what i really need...

Search in MEMBERINFO for "Avatar"
replace the instance of avatar link with:
<if condition="$prepared['profilepicurl']">
<img src="$prepared[profilepicurl]" $prepared[profilepicsize] alt="<phrase 1="$prepared[username]">$vbphrase[xs_picture]</phrase>" />
</if>
