usergroup permissions with vbadvanced?

Hi,
I am currently using vbadvanced on vb3.72. I have zoints installed also. I cannot find a way to carry over my usergroup permissions to the new page(vbadvanced)
I want the threads to be seen,but not accessed until the view registers. Currently I cannot apply permissions to usergroups for some reason. Any ideas?
