Ok I have something very strange happening! I cannot upload any zip files in the forums. I've checked the attachement settings in ADMINCP (set to 20000), group permissions, and used diagnostics> upload with no issues. Also I have VBPORTAL installed and I can upload zip files to any part of it just fine.
When using the MANAGE ATTACHMENTS option in the post, it shows max file size 19.5 KB for ZIP file (see attachment). When I try to add a ZIP file I get an error "Thumbnail creation failed due to your image library not having support for this image type" (see attachment).
Anyone have a clue on this?

Have you upped the limit in the Attachment manager in the ACP?

Add another zero as I believe the attachment manager reads in bytes.
20000 = 19.53125KB hence your 19.5KB error
1MB = 1024KB or 1048576 bytes as would be put in the attachments.

How large are you wanting for .zip attachments?
Just remember to add the bytes in the attachment manager(not KB).

Sorry for the double post- saw Carmichael in forum and needed to bypass cache.
I didnt entirely read you original post but you may also check your zip attachment by
viewing the attachment manager and clicking on Edit for the zip extension.
Make sure that 'Display thumbnail for this type' is set to No

OK I must have been completely out of it! For some reason I kept thinking KB instead of bytes. Thanks for pointing out the obvious and proving once again that even the best of us can have streaks of ignorance.
Problem solved and thanks once again!
