Disable vBulletin's GZIP compression (in the Admin CP, vBulletin Options).

its your gzip compression you need to disable it like said above!

What are the consequences/ramifications of disabling gzip compression? I get the same error myself on custom pages and need to resolve it. Thanks!

This error is usually caused by double-compression (once from the server software, and once inside PHP/vBulletin), so disabling it will not have any ill effects.
