Need to change from daily posts to daily threads

I'd like to do this in two areas. I tried looking all over but haven't come up with a solution. I have ibprocarcade. Right now I have it set to 10 daily posts before the arcade will open up. I'd really like to change that to 5 daily THREADS. (Like other forums I have a few members that come in and post 10 smilie faces with 3 word remarks and then play all day.) Even if I got 5 new threads it would generate some kind of talk.

Anyway I was in the .php and really didn't know what the variable was that needed to be changed. I see $ppd but can I get away with just changing that and then the templates? I don't want to change 'posts per day' site wide but just there and maybe in the promotions area.

If someone has some insite that would be great.

If you have questions/problems with a modification or style, then please post in the thread (or support forum/board) about that modification/style. Best chance to receive a reply from either the author or another member using the same modification/style.
