when using this feature, will it also delete the attachments within that thread?

ok, is that true for both file system and database attachments or only 1?

Basically, if a thread is deleted, so will its attachments - regardless of where it is stored. The only exception to this is if you are soft deleting a thread and have chosen to keep attachments.

You will have to do an 'optimize' on your attachment table in order to see a size difference of the attachment table in the database (if that is what you are hoping for).
