Alt Image Attribute BB code - SEO Images

I have been using this Alt image text BB code for a few months and it works pretty good to SEO images. This is my first MOD post so if this has been posted before or something is incorrect or done wrong please let me know. It is for hot linked images NOT image's posted as attachments. It should work with all versions of Vbulletin.

Title: Alt Attribute BB code

Tag: alt

Replacement:

Example:
Alt Text

NOTE: Does not work like this Alt text.

Description:
Alt Attribute for Images

Use {option}:Yes

Button Image: http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/9674/72419669ss4.png http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/9674/72419669ss4.png

When posting, type in the text you want as the Alt attribute, highlight the text, click the button and insert your image url into the window promt, hit OK

OR:
Click the button, insert your image URL into the window promt, hit OK and then the editor will be ready for you to fill in the Alt Image Attribute text.

Demo: Used Golf Carts (http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/golf-carts-parts/6782-used-golf-carts.html) Mouse over images to see alt image text.

Also a Linked Example:

Please click INSTALL if you use this BB code.

Thanks!! This would mainly be used by the admins I guess :P Members (well mine) really don't go above and beyond even if it's this easy. But I think this should come standard with the image bbcode when you click the icon, after you enter the url you should be prompt for alt txt.

Thank you. Ultimately, that is how I would like for it to be. Exactly the same way you described.

Updated to 1.01. Include a cheesy button. Alot easier to use with the addition of the button.

I think this should come standard with the image bbcode when you click the icon, after you enter the url you should be prompt for alt txt.

I was able to come up with a JavaScript code that will prompt for both image URL AND the image description. I am testing it now on my forum and it's working OK...one issue is with IE7. It blocks the prompt unless you allow it. Firefox works fine. I'm trying to incorporate the JavaScript code into vb's JavaScript but with minimal success.

I agree.. Is there any way we can find a solution to all of these missing "alt" tags for hotlinked images to our sites? I think this is killing our SEO and according to my analytics, missing alt tags is not a good thing...

Is there anyway to to this automatically. Like giving the thread title to images as an alt tag?

Can this not be incorporated into the IMG tag?

I'm trying to implement this, but I don't see the "Replacement" value in the first post on this thread? What do I enter into the "Replacement" field?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
