How can I replace the user online image?

it is currently $prepared[onlinestatus] but I want to change the image.. Is there not a code like:
<if condition="online">xxxx<else />xxxx</if>

If you upload new images with the same title in the statusicon folder, it will replace the images without the need to edit any code.
