Hello all!

My community is all about exploiting video games and how to 'hack' codes for cheat devices and was mainly built around the PlayStation 2 SOCOM series. I'm trying to move out of the SOCOM series because the life time of cheating on that game is pretty much over. I haven't been to successful trying to grab another audience while trying to keep whatever is left of the old one. We currently have 23k members, 11k threads and almost 60 k posts.

I was wondering what you think when you first visit the website, and after playing around with the account and seeing member content (not viewable to guests). All reviews and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm pretty lazy, yes to lazy to copy and paste, but a live link to your forums would help :D

You should hide the register button for the members that are already members.

Okay, where can I start. Well for one thing, the style itself looks rather nice, and professional, but the notice seems rather rude in how it implies every ghost is 'stealing' the content and what not in bright red text.

Way too many forums in my opinion, for 50 000+ posts this is still complete overkill in terms of the forum listing, that is eight pages of forum listing, which is just far too much. Might want to merge a few forums together therefore to make your forum look more active (it's got a decent amount of posts and members to look incredibly active if you did that). Leaderboard stats are frankly overkill, and a waste of space, since there's a link to them in the navbar. You do however have a decent amount of add ons, which makes your forum better for your members and such like.

You may also want to upgrade to 3.7.2 which fixes some bugs such as security issues, or at least use the patches to fix these problems.

You should also add a forum link in the navbar and make the header image go to the forum part, because it's quite hard to get from the portal to the forum at this point in time for me.

You could also use a few more smilies, so check the smilies downloads section here. In all though:

Good:

Very nice forum style
Seems like an active forum for the topic (glitch forums with decent amounts of activity seem pretty rare from my searches)
Lots of things for the members to do
Seems like a nice community, although I hadn't tried seeing it from a member's perspective.

Bad:

Some issues with contrast
Too many forums
Bug doesn't allow display of pages past 1 to guests (don't know about members)

Hope that helped.

Thank you cheat-master30 for your review!

The notice is only there because we have 20, 000 members who do not post at all (give or take) and I need to find a way to get this posting.

As for the bug that doesn't allow display of pages past 1 to guests, not sure if that might just be on your end. In the Announcements forum, the first post is on every page, just like Modifications here on vBullin.org.

Updating vBulletin is suppose to be easy, but I have a couple modifications that alter files because hooks would not work (such as TfSEO).

The amount of forums just keep piling up because we're trying to get more people involved, and trying to grab a larger audience, so we have included more games and created a forum for each. I have tried to make one category called Other Games and created a whole load of forums inside them. I do agree that there are way too many. We have around 240+ forums on here :P

The one thing this message board has not had in the past 3 years are good smilies. I will grab some from here.

Thanks again for reviewing and taking the time to write :) Much appreciated.

I never noticed it there while logged in :P Thanks I will hide that now.

As for the page thing, I'm not sure, it just always said 1 in that menu for me. As for the forums, I think that number might be scaring them away a bit, as it sure was too much for me to read every single one. Maybe try some broader forum names and descriptions to cover multiple games?

That would work. However posts would be thrown in there and eventually be complete hell... unless I can force thread Prefix's and they must choose from a drop down?

You can Require Threads to have a Prefix through the forum edit thing, so my suggestion would be:

1. Enable that.

2. Make prefixes for the games for each system

3. Have list of links or a navbar at top of each forum to search relevant games

4. Add mod to make prefixes clickable.

too much games, too much forums, too dark...

oh, btw, your latest News, about RSS feeds... don't know why you tell your members to use feedburner... you have RSS activated inside vBulletin, this is quite faster than any external service...

Yes but it boosts up the stats on feed burner :)

Ok thank you. I also found what you were talking about with the pages. I thought you were talking about inside a post, but instead the error is when you are in a forum trying to go to another page. It is a coding error on my half, I will fix it now. Thank you.

Seems like a nice active forum which is always a good thing. I'll just point out some of the things that other reviewers may have missed (to lazy to read what they typed).

Firstly, For the size of the forum and activity of it I would have expected a more visually pleasing logo. Let's be honest, it's not the greatest looking logo and far from even being mediocre. Your logo should stand out as it's the signature image that users will clap their eyes on and in it's current state it's an eyesore.

Granted the style looks nice (not a dark style fan) but the quality seems to be there so nice work on that.

It seems every forum I review the navbits_start icon is left untouched and remains the default vbulletin stock icon. Change it for something custom and even more so because default vbulletin blue looks hideous against any kind of red.

Going into the forum display I noticed your using vbulletin stock threadmarkers. If you insist on using them you ought to grab the psd and save the matting to the dark colour it's being applied upon which would eliminate the white redundant white edging that's showing. Preferably, I would opt for something custom.

Same rule goes for the other icons (Im Icon etc) that are lingering on dark backgrounds. They all have white edging because they were saved out for light backgrounds not dark backgrounds.

These are just minor issues that if addressed will give the visual look a cleaner sharper more eye candy look.

And if you want smilies you ought to take a look in my signature, I cater for dark backgrounds.

Overall, Nice design you just need to get those rogue vbulletin stock icons removed for either something custom (good thing) or atleast grab the vbulletin GDK and save them to the background colours that they are being aplied onto.

Thank you for the review Shelley_c. I'm not much of a graphics/visual person and I focused more on the content and what we have to offer over the visual side of it. After you pointed it all out I'm starting to kick myself for cutting corners like this. I will go ahead and get a new banner created that will fit this theme, and possible the rest of them (we have 5 themes excluding vBulletin default), then work on the icons. I will also look at your signature and use your smilies for sure :)

By the way, the main theme is Lunablack

Thanks again for reviewing. :)
