forum error (Call to a member function on a non-object)

i can view my home page ok... but as soon as i click on a forum i get this error:


Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/forcer/public_html/forums/includes/functions_forumdisplay.php on line 182


this is sudden, all i have done was add a plugin and changed a few style vars from within the template manager.

any ideas?

it appears the plugin was causing this because i disabled it and it worked.

does that mean there is an error in my php code?

i still get this error even with removing code

maybe its down to the hook i choose? (global_start)

the variable is in the header template
