I've installed a new style and I am trying to modify the XML directly. However, it doesn't seem that the changes are taking effect, even after I clear cache, etc. Any suggestions? Can an XML file be modified outside of the built in style editor after the style has been installed?
Thanks

Why are you changing it via the xml file, if its the full stlye xml and yo uchanged it after you imported the style, then yes yo uneed to reimport the style.
What are you trying to change exactly?

vBulletin just reads the file and copies the stuff it needs too to the database. It doesn't read the file again after that. You need to reimport the style every time you edit the XML.
However, why are you editing the XML file? You can edit templates in the Style Manager. (See the manual: Styles & Templates (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/styles_and_templates))

Thanks for the reply. It is a custom style that I got free from this site. There are areas of the header that do not come through the built in style editor. Therefore I can't customize the colors without going directly to the XML file that contains the style code. Or am I missing something?

AdminCP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Edit Templates > header ?
Or are you on about:
AdminCP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Main CSS ?
