IS it possible to do a sql back up of users and threads without mods or skins on 3.71 and downgrade the forums to vbulletin 3.68 and restore the backup in 3.68? Without errors?

You can't officially downgrade. The only way to "downgrade" is to restore a database backup from a time when your forum was on an older version of vBulletin. Then just restore the vBulletin Files that match this version.
