Wouldn't a notice actually be better for this and more noticeable?

Really it depends on your personal preference. I use it because I don't really like notices. I like how it is at the bottom and out of the way so members can easily get to the stuff they need.

True, but do most of them really notice it? If not, then it isn't doing it's intended job. ;)

Sometimes you may not want it to be noticeable. It's just a place where most websites keep their disclaimers and that is where I learned to put mine. It will be noticeable on pages that don't have scroll bars, but not on pages like the forum home, because of it being in the footer and therefor out of the way.

Very good...I need it. Now, I just have to figure out how to install it (I'm quite a newbie :D) I'm guessing in the xml folder? Thanks for the mod...its just what I needed as well!

Sorry, but I just find this really lazy LOL. It takes literally seconds to edit your footer template and add this.

For those who hate template edits, then yeah, it's great! LOL

Maybe, but someone like me who has zero coding knowledge/experience...need these kinds of mods. I worry enough as it is installing anything on my board because if it gets messed up...I have to pay someone to fix it.

Very nice. I was planning on doing this using replacement variables, but I like the idea of having a product.

Go to the AdminCP -> Plugins & Products -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product -> Upload the product.

I don't like editing all 5 of my templates. So I am sure others feel the same way.

Nice mod.

I am about to release a information system which includes a disclaimer, tos, privacy policy, rules, about us and anything else that would look good.

It's all coded, just need to export the xml file and its done :)

Glad you like it. I've always loved products. I love having skins, but hate editing them lol, so having products do it for you is always better.
