View Full Version : How does vB.org create the illusion of a separate Articles system?

How do does vB.org create the illusion of a separate Articles system, a separate Mods system, and a separate Styles system, when I believe these are all just different categories of forums in the same system (the base vB)?

I use vBa CMPS & Dynamics to accomplish this, however the big draw back is the New Posts and integrated vB Search functionality does NOT include the vBa components.

Is there a hack or mod available that would help explain how to divide my site into sections like you have done here on vB.org?

Thanks!
Jeff

They do it using custom category view stuff. I have also done it in a way which I prefer using subdomains and limiting what is shown based on the sub domain. If you are interested in this you can contact me via pm about it.

Set the display order to zero, then just link to them manually. Postbit style is changed on the fly in a plugin.
