I would like to know if it is possible to present a form when a user posts a new thread?

For example:

Computer Model:
CPU:
RAM:
Video Card:

Comments:

When the form is completed, it will be part of the message.

I'm sure I saw a hack the other day for 3.7 that did just that. Although, I can't remember which one it was as I don't use it.

Thank you for all the help. I think a message board might not be the right solution for me. I need a software that allows a user to fill out a form and then have people leave comments.

Through modifications you can get this working. vBulletin provides all the APIs that you would need to create a thread from a form, and template modifications would allow you to customize how posts look if they aren't the first post.

Thread stencil seems like the perfect product.

I have not yet bought VB so I when I click on the screenshot link to see a bigger picture at Thread Stencil (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=130162&highlight=Thread+Stencil), I get a access denied message :(

On the link it says 3.6.2 for the version, does that mean that it will not run on the latest VB?

Unlicensed members do not have access to attachments. But I believe people have successfully installed it on vBulletin 3.7+. Also, you have the ability to set up a /testvb/ that is password protected that allows you to install another version of vBulletin to test things on.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=66082 is the link... the addon is for 3.0, but works with minimal tweaks for 3.7.x ...i suppose people in the thread already converted it to the newest... anyway, we have the Paid Request for that...

i use it on 3.7.1 so no problem

easy to modify to your needs too! can edit a few things and use multiple forms as well. works great for me! (on 3.7.1 soon to be 3.7.2 hopefully)
