How do I save my smiley settings and forum Rank settings?

I can save the images ok but I can't find where to backup the actual settings. :confused:

And what about my Arcade settings?

Help! :eek:

just disable hooks before the upgrade, then enable and it's done ... :)

however: the BEST thing is do a complete back-up of your DB and FTP ...

Thanks. :) Is that in 'Manage Products' or 'Plugin Manager'? I assume I just uncheck everything?

Hang on... no that's not it. Do I disable the above anyway?

What/where are 'hooks'?

the hooks? no ... acp ---> vboptions ---> plugin/hook system ;)

keep in mind that after the upgrade you must redo all the template edits that you have previously done ... :)

Yeah, I know - I'm dreading it! I've saved the code from all the templates I've been screwing around with. Could be a long night...

While I'm here, I disabled the hook/plugin system (just to test) and custom smileys still work - is that right?

what you mean with custom? maybe new smiles that you have uploaded? no troubles for that mate ... also no troubles for your ranks images ... these files are into your FTP so none can touch these files ...

There is no worry about the upgrading even changing the smilies, ranks or vB code you've added. But to be safe, take a forum backup before you upgrade.

yes, however he can use the 'package without any image' from the members area ... :)

:confused: The upgrade is going to upload all the folders to my FTP - includingthe image files.

Like I mentioned, I'm not concerned about the images, it's the Rank/Smiley coding that I've painstakingly put in that I don't want to lose! :)

edit: anyway next time use the package without images ... (if you have customized someone)

Smileys and ranks will not be affected by an upgrade. Custom products and/or modifications to the style may be affected. It is best to to take a backup of your database before upgrading.

The only things the images in the upgrade would overwrite would be the default set of about eight smilies, so unless you replaced the defaults instead of adding new smilies to the collection, there would be no effect. There aren't rank images or stuff in the package by default anyway, and to avoid losing smilies, just delete the smilies folder in the images folder in the version 3.7 download.
