Hi all,

Here is a great source of info i've found that lets you disable right-clicking and copy & paste.

http://www.hypergurl.com/norightclick.html

Can someone tell me where exactly I add these codes for a vBulletin site?

Many thanks!

Callum

Many thanks :)

...Because once I have my site looking decent I don't want anyone stealing:

1) My site's logo.
2) The text in one particular thread. Do you know how I disable copy and paste for that one thread only?

hi callumbush, sorry i dont post on here much, but you will never stop them stealing your logo or anything if they really want it... (printscreen button!!)

hi exfsmiler/boofo!

Yeah it mentions on that link that if they 'really' want content from my site they'll find a way to get it.

I'd like to make it as hard as possible for them though, as the people I'm targeting with this probably won't have any technical knowledge to know how to steal if.....they most likely be will be general members of the public who like my logo, and (with regard to the thread I want to protect) ebay sellers.

I don't expect them to print the thread out and steal it that way, because it is really long :P

Okay so here are the remaining questions

Do you know how:

- To disable copy and paste for one thread only? (Or a selection of text within that thread, if that's easier?)
- To disable right click on a particular image only (i.e. my logo).

I'm not sure if you could use conditionals for it or not in the header, but that would be the only way to restrict it to those 2 areas. But as far as your header goes, it is still going to show up in their cache, so you will not be able to stop that. Anyone that really wants it will know how to get it and the occasional user wouldn't have a use for it anyway.

Please don't bother... you're more likely to drive away visitors then protect your stuff!

(I have a simple one click button that will disable your script. So its not going to take an inexperienced user long.)

People will get annoyed at you for ruining their browsing habits! Right click serves more purpose then copy and paste, (open link in new window, open link in new tab, bookmark this page e.t.c.). I'd just reconsider what you are doing...

Okay reconsidered ;)

Thanks to everyone for your help!
