I use my released mods daily, if I find an issue with them or add features for myself I will release updates. If there are significant bugs or simple feature requests I will do my best to release fixes. Some of my mods rely on fetching data from 3rd party websites, due to the unreliable results, my mods will require users to troubleshoot for themselves if they find the addon is not working for them specifically. I am offering my personal mods that work ok for me for you to use, I am sorry I do not have time to troubleshoot many user specific issues. Thank you for your understanding.

in order to run it on any custom page including vbadvanced you have to go into the templates and edit the template for that custom page getting rid of the $navbar line. In vbadvanced the template to edit is adv_portal also the buttons cannot be edited due to i am trying to keep this theme as blizzlike as possible.

How to customize the forum icons:

Go to your /public_html/images/w_forumbullets/
Now you see the images starting with
f<number>

F=forum
<number> = id on the forum

simply just change the numbers to fit into your forums
Same applies for the wow-base-<number>
you use f and the index
and you use wow-base when you are browsing the forums

Please reply if you need further explanation, this is just a short writting guide.

Yeah, now if this style actually WORKED it'd be nice. Forum owners shouldn't have to follow 500 steps, or even 10 to get their style working, and they certainly shouldn't have to rename anything.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but, at least with VBSEO, this style, not working at all.

tuaguild
06-23-2008, 11:33 AM
ok this style does work cause i am acctually using it on my forums.
the reason you have to go through all those steps is to make your forums look as blizzlike as possible which means they are trying to make it look like the forums at worldofwarcraft.com i dont use seo so that may be y this style doesnt work with vbseo i think it has something to do with the htaccess file that vbseo uses if anyone wants to take up fixing this let me know

tuaguild

Get to know vbulletin omg lol, its not that complicated to simply just FOLLOW a readme!!!

If you do not like modding, what about using an original skin?.

Now if you actually started thi*ing it WOULD be nice!?

In your readme you mention how to put the /css, /images/, and /js folders in the root shared with your /forum within public_http. My problem is that my forum is located in the base root right after public_http.

Example: /public_http/admincp/

What is the best way to fix this?

tuaguild
06-26-2008, 11:12 PM
well i have mine in the same way just upload it to base root and go from there that is what i did for descendantshq.org it doesnt have to have it the same way the readme says it is just assuming that you have the forum set up in that format but if it is in base you do not have to upload the way it says it will look like this
/css/
/js/
and so on

Here is a small tutorial on custom vb pages from mods or the like:

If you are using something like vbadvanced and want it to just be the header and navbar without the forum jump menu and user box find $navbar in that specific template and delete the $navbar line.

If you want the forum jump menu on the page along with the user login/loggedin box find the $navbar line and after it add
<!-- Navbar TBC Styling closer -->
</div>
<!-- / Navbar TBC Styling closer -->

that will close out the navbar and keep the footer from mixing with your page

Nice updates. It installs fine in the root, just like your forum uses. Another problem that I've come across seems connected to Firefox 3.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2008/07/95.jpg

The navbar displays correctly in older version of Firefox and in IE. Do you know what's causing this or an easy way to fix it?

*EDIT*

Also, all collapse_tcat.gif and collapsed_tcat.gif images link to your site with http://www.descendantshq.org//images/w_buttons/collapse_tcat.gif and http://www.descendantshq.org//images/w_buttons/collapse_tcat_collapsed.gif respectively.

edit

i cant figure out y they are doing that it is very odd but the images are still working as long as they are in the right folder so i am not too worried about it also the navbar issue doesnt display on ie7 that is what i am using now and well i have no php/html errors or any others except for on the search page and i am working on that

The image for the WOTLK Theme is missing, the little icon at the top. Or maybe it is called the Wrath theme, I'm not sure.

EDIT:: Also in Firefox 3 the WYSIWYG editor is completely messed up:

Tuaguild, first off...what a terrific skin! By far, the best out there for WoW. I'm very impressed and plan to use this skin for my guild. That being said, what about .psd files for certain graphics so the site can be customized with the clan's name vs having to look identical to Blizzard's site? It's a great skin...but a site should represent the clan/guild...not the software company IMO.

Great style for what it is, a Blizzard WoW forum clone...but for guild board...one that wants to have their own customization that represents their guild...it doesn't work IMO. Without the .psd files, customization (eg...header, replacing the "Blizz" blue graphic for admins with the guild's graphic) can't happen unless you have some serious graphic design skill and some time. Thus, it renders this style unusable for my guild unfortunately.

Awesome looking skin...the best I've seen for any vb site with a wow theme...just not appropriate for an actual wow guild.

hey all...

here is a quick fix to stop that annoying navbar resize for FireFox...
mind you it will set the width of the div on load...
so it will have a small bug when u resize it..
but then when u load a new page it will resize it to the new browser width..

Open your AdminCP and go here...
Styles & Templates > Style Manager > PB-WoW > Edit Templates > headerNow you have to add 2 sections of code...
This will make a new div to be just under the width of the browser window...
Kinda flooding the rest of the space..
To fake it to look like the table is the complete width of the screen...

use the following to help you...

FIND THIS:

<!--[if IE]>
<span style="position: relative; z-index: 20000; background: none;">
<![endif]-->
<small class="subnavfix" style="color:#808080; letter-spacing:normal;">

else if (typeof document.documentElement != 'undefined'

{
viewportwidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth,
viewportheight = document.documentElement.clientHeight
}

// older versions of IE

else
{
viewportwidth = document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].clientWidth,

}

I like the looks of this style - it's just what I am out shopping for at the moment - but as the site it is for is heavily customized already in terms of custom coding, I don't want to have to start recoding the majority of my site to use it. Any chance of a version that doesn't require all the hacks you have included in your info?

Also..... You should not be redistributing vBulletin files. Please remove any vBulletin files and include instructions for performing any edits yourself. Thank you.

Some of your images are requested from your server, which is down.
This wouldn't have been noticed previously, however it is now considering it cannot locate these images.

Maybe post a fix or maybe tell us how to edit our code to point at our directory?
(Images for the post new thread thing)

Edit: actually, a decent amount of the images the skin uses are being searched for on your server..
Edit: Fully completed the .pdf, sorry, only the editor images.
edit3:

Go to vBulletin ACP -> Style Manager -> In PBWOW go to StyleVars
You'll find it all there.

Styles looking extremely good on the test forum btw =]

Heya.

I would have posted on vb-pwow site, but it's down at the moment.

I have upgraded(installed) to the latest version. The voting on polls does not work properly,
like before. If you like, I can provide some information around this, unless you are already
working on a fix :)

Thanks

The site is up now and i have not worked out the poll problem yet. I need as much info as i can. I am working on getting a staff to the site that can work out all bugs of the skin and provide support for it also. msg me on msn at tuaguild@hotmail.com or on yahoo at darthice16

I am working on a massive update to vB-PBWoW i will release a new version as soon as i get it done. It will make it easier for me to add more styles and easier for you to make a custom version of the style. Check the status at http://www.vb-pbwow.com

ok i got everything working besides one thing my website is white how to i get all the image files into the thing???

Heya.

Where did you upload the image files?

The image folders from the zip files should be uploaded into /forumroot/images/*
If you go to your website and right click an image, select properties, you will see where it
tries to locate your image files. Make sure that your webserver has the images stored at
those locations.

If this does not help, please post a link to your site so I can view your problem.

Thanks

I just want to use this in one forum section (a WoW section) Is there a simpler way or how will all of this stuff work if i only have it enabled in one little section.
Not CMPS, Not Forum home, nowhere except a wow section of the forums..
Will this be a problem, should i just look for a simpler theme.?

Thanks for any insight.

Odd I downloaded this to install I went over to the support site but now I am getting this e-mail Anyone just downloading the styles and not getting a license will be banned. You need to download the CORE Files before downloading the style.xml files.
Please do this. I am sorry for having to charge for the style but it is only a small amount and it is due to lack of funding for continued development.
Thanks
Lyco

So is the style not free we actually have to pay for it? I am confused.

burridl
11-26-2008, 09:39 PM
According to his site the cost of running his server and time means that we have to cough up ?10 for it. Not too bad a price imo. It looks good but there's still a lot of work to do. A number of images are linking into descendanthq.com instead of the hosted site and the formatting goes mental with IE7.

A good effort though and this shows promise and shows how versatile vB is :D

tuaguild
11-26-2008, 11:53 PM
the style here on vb.org is still free it is versions 1.08 and up that are pay any version before that is still free. And the style is now called the Death Dealers WoW Skin due to curcumstances beyond my control

This would be a rather nice theme for vB if it didn't have all the hacks. I realize what it is you're trying to accomplish but I really suggest making a second version of this style that installs normally without having to go through so many complications to install the hacks.

I paid for vB because I like vB and if I wanted a replica of World of Warcraft's forums I'd simply go to their website.

This is the best post I've seen about this style.
I downloaded all the files and read the read me file, and it looks kinda complicated...
Thanks away, ill skip this :P

tuaguild
12-13-2008, 01:39 PM
Honestly its not really well its not feasable for me to make a second version without all the hacks/template changes/product installs/forum arrangements. This style is very extensive and i would have to recode the whole thing from scratch and since i barely have time to code this one that isnt happening.

Yeah, I will actually install this when they come up for this clean for vb3.8

tuaguild
01-14-2009, 09:16 PM
i have a few people that have the newest version installed on 3.8 and it works fine. I am working on an update but it kinda freaks out Inet Explorer but works great in firefox anyone who knows coding is free to come to my site http://www.vb-pbwow.com to help Also no there is no legal ramifications of using this style unless you try to make yourself off to be Blizzard or you delete the copyright info i posted in the footer. You can make the footer copyright info shorter but IT HAS TO HAVE SOMETHING SO BLIZZ WONT SUE YOU

01-26-2009, 02:42 PM

Depict
02-10-2009, 12:55 AM
When i was hosting a Guild forum, I set this theme up.. Quite painful (spec the pdf in weird font) but eventually with tinkering and ripping out some lumps of hair out it worked well and looked great.

Great theme but make sure you follow the instructions otherwise your doomed.

Good to see a new version is out.

Keep up the good work :)

I tried to do this and am no slouch in the mod department. I've done mods for vb 2.x - 3.x (before there were products and hooks) I've even done phpbb2.

But for some reason I just couldn't get this working right.

It's a very cool mod. I'd like to have it for someone's guild vb, but it won't be at this time. Maybe in the future.

Hey, amazing work i must say.
Im confused while reading the PDF installation guide,

This was not included in my downloads i recieved here.
Is this correct? the link in the PDF file did not work to download it.
Waiting for a reply.

this version on vb.org is outdated you can download a new version from my support site vb-pbwow.com the reason i havent uploaded a new version on vb.org is due to size restrictions of files on the site the package is HUGE like alot of data and exceeds the amount by alot.

I'm working on installing all the files now. I actually had vB 4.0.1, deleted my database (since its still new) and installed vB 3.7.4 which seems to be the latest version I could find for this skin to work with.

Tons of work, but the skin is amazing for us WoW lovers. I'll post back here if I was able to get it installed correctly.

I do not think the conversion from 3.7.x/3.8.x to 4.0.x would go that quick, especially with this skin. It would be nice to see an upgrade some time though, if possible at all. Also, thanks for sharing!
