Adding Mods

do you want to create your own mods OR just want to learn installing mods ..

if its creating your own, than I'd suggest you to start from tweaking existing mods. learn php/mysql

i d/l the mod i wanted but ask for the "XML" and i goto the place i d/l it to and it gives me a php and then a template. where can i find the XML?

Yes i wanna learn how to install them and have no clue how. I'd like to learn from scratch and hoping there is a tutorial to break eerything down for me

any help here? what does XML mean and wher can i find this. I looked the link sent but really doesnt show much on what to do to install a mod from the mod sections of these forums..Any tutorials?

ok this is what i do.

1. i d/l the mod
2. went to my acp
3. found plugin and products
4. manager product
5. i scroll all the way down and click add import product
6. i goto the browse button find the mod which is this C:\Users\raw\Downloads\new moods.zip
7. i click import and this is what i get
XML Error: Empty document at Line 1

like i said im totally new to this trying to teach my self can someone tell me what im doing wrong.

You must unzip "new moods.zip" and find the .xml file inside of the archive. You want to upload that file.

ok guys im going to sit down tomorrow and go thru what everyone has said and I am not leaving the computer to i figure it all out..

do you have to upload all mods to ur server after you have uploaded the xml file?

The reason i ask is i finally figured out how to upload the mod to the forums I then go to vb options it is in the options and it is enabled, but I dont see them on my forums.

What am i doing wrong?

If you have questions/problems with a modification or style, then please post in the thread (or support forum/board) about that modification/style. Best chance to receive a reply from either the author or another member using the same modification/style.
