I know that Danny (admin here) is probably sick and tired of my reminders but with June being nearly halfway over, there is no voting option for the board of the month for June 2008. Since the voting thread hasn't been created yet, the nomination thread for July 2008 hasn't been created either.

I am just curious if vBulletin.org was planning on delaying the voting for June's BoTM competition until July started.. Since we're already close to halfway through June.

All the best,
Eric

Danny is currently very busy. Marco decided he would take over for this month - but he had forgotten and not had time. It should be up soon though. :)

This is my mistake, as posted before, Danny did not have the time this month, and i should have taken over. Been pretty busy myself, andi totally forgot about this extra task.

I won't have time for it until monday, so will do it then i Danny has not gotten to it earlier.

It's now Tuesday and I still do not see any voting option for the BoTM contest. Perhaps we should delay it until July 1st?

i don't think it would change a thing if if it delayed eternally...

the best way to have the vote from people here is to provide your site to the Community Reviews... the BotM is used by 10 people when the Reviews are read by thousands... it's more rewarding to have comments from people in that forum i think...

That... and most of the boards that win BoTM are in no way breathtaking, outstanding, eye popping, or any of the above.

It's mostly a normal vB with a few css tweaks, and a messy installment of modifications. I don't see any difference in it and the community reviews forum..

Let's settle this by choosing mine as BofTM :D

The BOTM is a nomination and second system.

Don't forget to add in a bunch of "asking your friends to vote for you" as well.

Sorry, I just had heard from many people at the adminzone forums that the vb.org BoTM is a popularity contest layered with getting a bunch of people to join and vote for you.

Voting, hell all polls onsite should be for licensed members only.

If we can prove Vote Rallying, it is disqualified per our rules:

No rallying whatsoever is allowed either internally at vBulletin.org or externally. Any evidence proving this will result in disqualification.

you will rarely find rallying votes because you just need 10 voters to win in that contest... on most of the real BotM contests i see on real popular sites, there is a need of 500 voters minimum to see a real value on a vote... 10 voters here, with 1 of majority makes you win for no real reason...

when i won last year, it was not for popularity, it was because it was the first CSS driven style on the market (for vB i mean)... not even suitable for anyother vB board, but at least it was different from all the others suggested... and i won by what, 2 or 3 votes... pathetic... i do not even list that gain in my awards... (because i have some on cssmania and other great sites!)

The current contest has now been extended until July 1st. The contest will be for both June and July. Nominations can proceed until the first. Closing thread.
