At this time this mod is not functioning correctly. Cafepress has redone their free site template and it will take a rewrite of this mod to get it to work again. Not extremely difficult, just time consuming. Unfortunately, 2 jobs, a sick kid and commercial work leaves free time few and far between nowadays. I will try and work on it when I can. If any other coder out there is interested they are free to take what I have and run with it, just like Creed posted on his original code.

This is a reworked version of the abandoned Cafe Press mod (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=95028) done by Creed.

This add-on will allow you to add all the items from any of your Cafe Press store's or multiples if you so choose. If you have multiple stores you are going to use, make sure you separate each store name with a comma.

This add-on works with Cafe Press basic store, as well as with premium stores.

Two files to upload.
One (optional) Template Edit.

Basic Store Demo (http://www.cnd-systems.com/support/forums/shop.php)

Basic Store Single Item Demo (http://www.cnd-systems.com/support/forums/shop.php?item=cnds.275329335)

If you have at least 2.0.3 installed then only change needed is to replace the shop.php file. You do not need to reimport the product.

PREMIUM OWNERS PLEASE READ!!
I will not be able to officially support the shops of premium owners. The main problem is that there is no standardization on the templates available to premium users, especially in the css and notes markup which is what I count on for the script, and it's unrealistic to try and code for each one. The shop works for premium shops with the default template and no css added. A lot of the templates mess up the formatting.

I will help with what I can but there is only so much I can do.
When asking for help please include the following:
path to your shop.php file
store id
template used (if possible)

Can you create custom shirts from the site, and then sell them through this? and where is the checkout done through?

No, this is just a way to display your existing cafe press account while staying on your forum. The checkout and shopping cart is done with cafe press.

Oh snap... this is right up my lane. I'm going to try this out definately. If it works the way I'm thinking it will... this will probably be one of my favorite hacks.

Wait something isn't working for me. I followed the directions just fine but my items from my shop aren't displaying on my site. Any clue why this is happening? My shop name is AFCC... which I replaced "you_store_name" with on the PHP. Just not working for some reason. The site is in my sig and the link is in my NavBar. Thanks!

Hmm, do you have a premium site or basic? I just signed up for basic to do testing, looks like some code is different on your site though.

I believe I am in the free trial period of a premium site... could that be the issue?

I sent you a pm with a tester to look at. It might be a difference in how their code works between premium vs free. Let me know if what I sent you will work. I'm not 100% happy with the compromise but it's the best I can do without them having better tags.

You want to give this one a try? I think it'll work a lot better. If it does then I'll change the code.
It's all ready to go with your info. Just upload it to your forums folder.

Hey I downgraded my account to basic so this would work good for me. Now I have a new issue but it shouldn't be much to figure out.

At the top of my shop, there is plain text that says:

"### Items ### -->"

At the bottom, there is plain text that says:

### end of ITEMS ### -->
End Content, Start Footer Include -->

Any clue where I can go to get rid of this? Thanks!

I'm about to post a new one. For some reason the code that I use to check where to start pulling in the content changes from page to page. I just need to account for them all and switch accordingly. The one I'm going to post now works for your shop.

Quick question.

On my site it is displaying the high level items fine, but when I click on any of them it takes me to the Cafe Press site. Is this how it should work?

Correct, that was how it was originally coded. I'm working on making it so that the only time you leave the local page is for adding to the cart and checkout.

You get a commission for each item sold on cafe press. I don't know how much, I just coded the interface, don't really use it.

No, right now it sends you to cafe press. I'm reworking it so it'll keep it locally except for adding to the cart and checkout.

Great! I'm glad to have this finally working again. Wonderful job.

One question, if you have an item in your shop that is available in more colors they put an image beneath the product that says "More Colors Available." For some reason those images aren't being shown when viewing the shop.php, but once I'm at the Cafepress site they work fine (obviously). Any idea on a way to make this work?

The part in shop.php where you set the $stores variable is wrong. If you go to your shop it's pretty much

http://www.cafepress.com/your_store_name

That is what you need to put there. I went to yours

http://www.cafepress.com/AbsolutGr_shop

and got the same error.

Any idea on a way to make this work?

http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/shop.php

Yeah, I haven't been able to get the script for the image switch on the color options to work. It's something I'm working on though.

You don't put in the entire store url, just your shop id. In this case, you would just put wswear.

Do you get this same layout in IE or just Firefox?

Anyways when I go into my shop and then click on a design, and then go to click on an actual individual item to view it it takes me to a 404 page. (My site is here (http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/index.php)) What did I break?

edit: Btw here (http://www.cafepress.com/neverforgotten) is my Cafepress shop, and it usually has a side menu...in your screencaps your shop still has it's side menu when embedded in the forum but mine doesn't, is it supposed to?

Change it to this:

There was a hard code to store.php for some reason. I changed it to shop.php, should work now.
The menu wasn't showing up because it is hard to do a premium shop on anything but a case by case basis due to the variety of code differences. I checked your site and added it to the qualification and it will show the menu now.

1. When viewing category page, footer shows up cramped to the right side (see attached). I'm using Firefox 3. Works fine in IE7 though.

2. In IE7 and Opera, "more color info" image shows up broken/missing. Works fine in Firefox.

What is the change you have to make to the shop.php in order for it to show your shop?

Just this, right?

$stores = $vbulletin->options['CHANGETHISTOYOURSHOPNAME']; //EDIT THIS VARIABLE TO BE A LIST OF YOUR STORES

I started a fresh install after uninstalling the plugin. Reinstalled, uploaded my shop.php again and I'm getting a blank screen. www.elantraxd.com/forums/shop.php

This is my Cafepress store. www.cafepress.com/elantraxdstuff

You don't change that variable, that one gets set by vb itself, that line should read

$stores = $vbulletin->options['cafepressstoreid'];

Then in the vb admin options you set the store.

You might want to start from scratch. You don't need to modify anything in the file itself. Just put the file in your forum root directory, go into the admincp and set the store name in the vb options.

Ok, I may have a temporary fix for this. In the template customization for your cafe press page, there is a section where you can "DeSelect" the show Side Bar. I did this, removed the left side links, and cleaned the page right up. Now my categories show nicely....

http://www.tunernetwork.com/forum/shop.php

Thanks for that. I'll do some testing and see if I can figure out why the side bar makes a difference.

Just installed and was amazed at the ease of use. A few things though:

1. I see in the code it's supposed to display the forum name in the title before "Cafe Press Store", but that part isn't showing up. I added my forum name manually.

2. Like a previous poster, clicking on a category link still displays all products.

3. Also, on the category page all the store names are displayed in the navbar, stretching out the page. (See screenshot, first arrow.) It would be better to have the store name as set in the control panel.

Suggestions:
1. I'd like to install this on a couple other forums, but I have a bunch of young kids on one and their parents would not take kindly to having the Intimate Apparel category there, even if it's empty. It would be nice if we could remove links to the categories we don't use.

2. A way to disable logo display would be nice as well. Since I have it in my forum header, it looks silly displayed on the page.

3. Showing all the products on the first page makes for a very long page, both in length and time to load. :( Maybe you could add a way to display only a few select items (say, four or six) there, specified in the control panel options by ID number? Or a few random items?

Thanks!

1. Can you post the code that you edited? It should be showing the forum. It also might of messed with the code and caused #3 because I don't have the store id showing up there at all. The store name should be showing down below, not even with the forum name like you have it.

2. I'm working on these, trying to figure out a decent way to get it done.
I've attached what I see when I use your shop info

A lot of these things I cannot do. It's just a lack of usable code.
Here is what the script does. The script basically sucks the code from your cafe press store like your looking at a browser into itself. I then strip off a chunk of it to get rid of the header and footer. Then I do some parsing to fix some links and stick that data in a vb template page.
If I could get xml or something else from cafe press then I could do some fancy stuff, but with what I have available, all I can do is present what you have on your storefront on a vb page.
The reason it's showing intimate apparel is because one of your stores, bananasplitny, has it as a category.

2. A way to disable logo display would be nice as well. Since I have it in my forum header, it looks silly displayed on the page.

You can get around that by coming up with a unique logo for your store. I already happened to have on for my store which just a derivative of the original with "Online Store" appended to the site name. Looks pretty good.

Is vbseo a free hack from here? If it is I'll install it and test.
The reason I asked about the install is because the lines that errored are the only lines that use the store id variable. It's like it's not seeing that variable. I just checked again and it is picking up the store name variable, weird.

It uses the forum style for it's background. For your shop, I think you could edit line 297 from
echo "<td valign=\"top\">\n";
to be
echo "<td valign=\"top\" bgcolor="#FFFFFF">\n";

and it should work.

Thanks for this upgrade - wonderful add-on!

One observation though - after using it for about 5 minutes.. if you click on the LINK of the product [NOT the product image] - the target is the cafepress site..

I thought you might want to know and replace that to always show the same site not cafepress :-)

[at least not until checkout etc]

On like 202 can you remove the @ so the line reads

$socket = fsockopen("www.cafepress.com", 80, $errno, $errstr);

Run it like that and see if it gives you an error.

Using the latest version of this mod and 3.7.2 - however I get the same error on all forums, even the sample forums and others people have linked to in this thread:

Whenever I click on an item such as a shirt that has both a color and size option once I change the color the list of possible sizes goes away and I get an "Error on Page" notification from IE7-
When I look at the details it's a Javascript error on line 1161 -
Error- Object Expected
When I go to linke 1161 (from view-souce) the line is simply:

refreshAvailabilityMessage() ;

When I further search up and down in the code on the source page I see that in fact this function is never defined (on the page I'm viewing in my browser).

Any ideas? I have this same error on a bunch of machines, all running IE6 and 7... Like I said it seems to be on everyone's store that I visit... When I view the stores directly on cafepress.com they work just fine.

OK now it's worse... I moved hosts and upgraded to the latest 3.7.3 and now my store doesn't show up at all.

When I click on the store link I get the basics of the page but only a "View Cart" graphic- no products listed at all.

It was working fine before the upgrade... I uninstalled the mod, reinstalled it, re-uploaded shop.php... confirmed the site is working direct at cafepress.com - but still no store ?

I went to the options and shut it off, turned it back on- no difference... but when I shut off the store (choose to not make it active from the options) instead of showing the custom 'Store is closed' message it shows a default "Sorry the Shop is Closed" message...

Any ideas?

Any help?

Ken, yours is a bit off, this file should work for you though.

That's looking better, the item pages and items all show up fine now, the only one that looks funky is the home page of the cafe press site rendered inside our site some of the columns/tables are a bit messed up, but the products are much better so positive progress!

BTW my site is 3.7.3 PL1 and it works fine!

nascartr
09-14-2008, 02:24 PM
The vBulletin Version should have nothing to do with it. I too am updated to the latest 3.7.3 PL1 version. I think it's on CafePress end since that is where the store is provided from. The 'View Cart' image link has apparently not changed on their end thus is why it's still showing up.

Do you have a link to your site KenDude? The Demo store above is even down like the majority of ours.

It's not the Vb update, Cafe Press changed the templates of their basic shops on Sept 11th-
More info : http://announcements.cafepress.com/?p=106

Am I right in guessing those who still have working shops have premium stores/accounts so your templates didn't change?

Dylanblitz

Yeah, cafepress majorly changed their code. I'm going to have to rework it to get it in sync with what they're using now.
Like nascartr said, it's not your vb version, this code barely touches vb, so most vb changes wouldn't effect it. It was just the code change on the cafe press side.

ArnyVee

2 things

- this is NO WAY a snub at Dylan, he has done a great job with the mod and its not his fault its not working, CafePress changed their output and I know he is busy
- we can try posting here in the For Hire section, I seem to have pretty good luck there, pm me and we can exchange AIM/Gmail so we can take it off the thread as not to take away from the OP's flow :)

iogames or v12kid, are you both spearheading this 'new' version for the coder or do you have different coders?

If everyone can put in 5 green backs, we should be able to have enough for the coder to do his/her thing! ;)

It's here (http://www.pimpmyberry.com/shop.php), found it by Googling "pimpmyberry vbulletin shop" :P It is working, but I thought premium shops were still working? My premium shop works. So maybe the pimpmyberry shop is premium.

strange! let's ask the Mod! I dare u to who find out first... :D
It seems like a Premium store but CafePress hack here never performed for premium stores, but I see the same button and I first thought it was an iFrame which will resolve most of our problems, but lets race to find the solution...
most of the Coders feel/act like prima-donnas and we need the work done...

OK...just so that everyone knows. The Cafe PRess Mod that was installed on the site http://www.pimpmyberry.com was the default setup that the OP has posted. No other modifications were done to the code supplied. We do not know why it still works...it just does.

http://www.pimpmyberry.com/showthread.php?t=790

Incredible!... what do you think Dylanblitz???

Dylanblitz
10-13-2008, 06:06 AM
Because it's a premium store it uses a different base template code. Premium stores also support a lot more customization then the free store, which is why I was having problems and had to make modifications for certain stores. They probably didn't change the base code on the premium stores because they are customizable and they didn't want to blow away their user's custom changes. So the premiums that worked before still work.

iogames
10-13-2008, 02:08 PM
so the solution for all of us, or the recommendation is to go Premium?
which I don't see the problem

Dylanblitz
10-13-2008, 09:05 PM
so the solution for all of us, or the recommendation is to go Premium?

Not exactly. Premium has their own problems, which is why I had to do so much modifying for them and ended up stopping supporting premium shops. The best solution is for someone who has the time to modify the script to do it correctly.
