$user phrase in a post?

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to use a vbphrase in a post. My scenario is that I want to post a Subscription Club only announcement with a simple:
Hello $user,

Blah blah.
If anyone knows if it's possible and how to do it, I would be extremely grateful.
