I'm just curious how many Admins here allow there Moderators to use/have the Mod Control Panel function?

Those that do, what powers are you giving your Moderators?

Most moderators now a days don't need the Mod Control Panel. Most moderator functions are available through Inline Moderation.

Lets assume that they aren't on 3.7 for this question.

I'm in general, curious if most allowed it, and what did you allow?

I allow moderators to use the ModCP, and most functions of it. Note the word MOST, because it'd probably be suicidal to let them use the mass delete/prune posts and threads function.

Yes, I do. Always have. I allow my moderators to have full use of the Mod CP.

The ability has been there since 3.5...

Sorry, i'm not feeling well and probably can't think that straight. But where do I turn it on, or is there a list of functions I turn on for it to appear?

The inline moderation? They should be available in any forum you moderate. They are after the posts above the quick reply... I have never had to turn them on...

I'm not talking about Inline Moderation.

I'm talking about the Mod Control Panel

I actually think anyone who can moderate has access, but since I have never really messed with it, don't quote me. LOL.

wait a moment, but the ModCP isn't disabled onto 3.7.x for the Moderators (cause it generates a query)?

Any moderator has access to the ModCP. for regular moderators (not Supoer Mods) the link is however not shown in the footer as this would need a heavy query for all users. They can however still access it by going to the URL.

You need to assign the permission to them via Usergroup Permissions :).

I only made this thread because I had a mod tell me. You don't even let mods use the MOD CP. I was like, what are you talking about? You have inline Moderation like KK is talking about.

He was referring to the Mod CP which is limited access of the admin cp, and therefore I was asking you people if that is necessary and if you use it at all? Because I don't see the need for them to have it, but maybe I'm missing something and should give them more authority.
