over time someone or something finds a error in the software and we gotta upgrade. Will there ever be a version that is CLOSE to perfect? lol Just wondering!

Everyone and everything has some kind of flaw, no one person or thing can be perfect. It may be possible for close to perfect, but there will always be bugs in all software.

And in such a big piece of software, there are bound to be bugs.

cool..but do people take time to find flaws and try to hack the software?

Most bugs are found by people normally using vBulletin.

You bet they do. For some, hacking code flaws is their ONLY passion! They are different than the bad guy hackers who take sites down because they can and the badguys who are looking for something to steal, like your identity. All of them make site security a problem and when you add "open source" to the mix, it gets pretty interesting because like we have seen with vB recently, when you close one, it motivates hackers to find more that haven't been closed. All operating systems have backdoors and are susceptible to exploitation. So, as you can see, its not just vB, though I would argue that they have prematurely released several versions that should have been tested a LOT better before the release went out the door.
Unfortunately, the WWW can be a dangerous place and you can only do the best you can to keep it safe.

No. No software will ever be perfect. Introducing new features, improving code, every change you make is the possibility of yet another bug.

i read the word perfect, i thought someone was talking to me ?!
it's about bugs then..... bah, not interesting
remember that vB is driven by another piece of software, PHP... and a data manager called MySQL... all these things are updated from time to time, not only vB itself...
it makes a lot of unstable variables...
