Small little hack..

Seeing how I don't think Guests should see a "Profile" Link up top and Registered Users shouldn't see a "Register" Link up top I made a small change.

Edit global.php and look for this:


eval("\$fivelinks = \"".gettemplate("fivelinks")."\";");


Add this right before it:


if ($bbuserid != 0)
{
$profileregister = "<A HREF=\"member.php?action=editprofile\">profile</A>";
}
else
{
$profileregister = "<A HREF=\"member.php?action=signup\">register</A>";
}


Then edit the fivelinks template and replace the html for the register and profile links with $register and $profile. I did it this way so that I could remove

I use text links so you would have to modify it to handle the default graphical links.

I still think this is a great little hack, I just had to reinstall my board, and redo this little thing, very usefull

I also would love it if John installed my search hack that puts the goto newpost and goto lastpost arrows on search results. I hate having to click the thread, and then click the "Goto first unread post" link.

YES.. .YES... that is must that search display hack... i love it and get annoyed at other vb's i frequent when i always use the search to look at the past 24 hrs worth of posts.

as to the small, hack hehe my fivelinks template is no more... :D
