how to stop spammer?

im really tired about spammer.they always spam my boards.
im using vb.3.7.0
how i can stop spammer?

1. always use email confirmation feature (requiring unique email addresses) and do not forget to disable posting of the unactivated usergroup.

2. try enabling the recaptcha or question/answers while registration. This would help in reducing bots signing up.
