What this hack does?
This hack adds members to your online list from your already registered users.

How will I arrange the total users?
Admin Control Panel > Fake Users > Add Member > You can increase or decrease the number.

What should I do for the Guest Number?
Admin Control Panel > Fake Users > Visitors> You can increase or decrease the number.

I found this out by opening the file. Near the top it says vBadvanced.

So im guessing ...... its for vBadvanced. Copy it into your modules directory replacing the file that is there.

when there are noone signed in the first fake user has a comma infront of the first name also if you refresh the page all of the users change and the members are not listed on the whos online all of the problems are a dead giveaway. Is there a fix for this? I really like the idea its just not 100% yet.

Great hack, works very well without any errors, but it will repeat users if the fake user logs in. Then you have two of the same users logged in. Looks like something that could be fixed. Keep up the good work. :up:

I have the vbxperience addon installed and this addon will display the badge awards next to the fake user name in the onlineusers.php. Is there a way you can strip the award badges out, and just show the username?

Mildly entertaining, but I'd like to see it also show under Paul M's "Who has visited today?" and not change them with every view of the forumhome but{fake} log them in for the same duration as the cookie timeout. For example, my members drop off the who's online after 30 minutes of inactivity. If I set the fake users to 1, I'd like to see that same 1 person logged in for 30 minutes, and then have it change to another member.

open "product-fuser.xml" in notepad/wordpad
find this:

Changing the last visited date is not hard but it will increase the number of queries to the database to update the field for every user. I can try it on my board and if it works and other people are interested, I'll share the solution.

Select User Groups <== this option is to choose fake users from any particular user group of your forum. Suppose, all registered members are in user group 2, then the fake users will be online only from the group 2 users if you select user group 2. And so, if all super moderators are in user group 3, then the fake users will be online only from the user group 3 if you select user group 3.

And guests will be as much as you will put the number.

Wish if were there option to select multiple user group for this. The option for multiple user group is given but not working. Anyway, nice hack. Please fix this one if possible. GOOD LUCK.

What it did was to remove the double comma when I was online but when I was not logged in there would be no comma.

Maybe someone can help me with my other problem with this mod?

When I first installed this mod it would add the fake members that have been online to the Users active in the past 48 hours which is what I really liked about this mod.

But after I tried to fix the comma problem by re importing the xml file. It will not show the fake users in the Users active in the past 48 hours .

All you people that are yelling and calling this hack "useless" and whatever else...you all are looking way to deep into this thing.

If you have a small board that just started, the worst thing in the world is for a potential member to log on and see an empty board,

The best way to use this hack, IMHO, is to set it just to run a FEW guests.

Dont set it to run 100 guests and 25 members when all you have is 25 members total. Just use it for what its made for, To help the new and just started board look busy.

Now, with that said, you must also continue to work on your board and make it succesfull. Dont just sit back and expect this hack to draw in a million members without you doing any work.

Theres about 100 different threads here and at vb.com abnout how to attract new members..search....and read...and dont worry...if you really have a good forum....members will find there way there. ;-)

Works Great But Can There Be A Way That The Fake Users That Show Can Atleast Have The Log In Date Of This Year Instead Of Say 2006-08-09. Anyone That Clicks The Name Will See That The Board Has A Fake User Mod.
