We all know the interface for vB.com, which is the standard interface (off the shelf templates).

VB.org should just use that to make our lives easier, i think.

Why? What are you finding hard about navigating around vb.org?

this theme was used on the site to demonstrate the flexibility of vBulletin's engine... having a monotone theme would show the opposite... if all official vb sites are the same it demonstrate the hardness of the engine.

The design of vBulletin.org was carefully choosen. We used the following 2 basic rules during design:

- Design should be very similar to default vBulletin. It should immediatly be recognisable as a vBulletin site.
- It should demonstrate the flexibility of the the vBulletin Engine and templating system, without compromising the first rule.

I love the vB.org skins - I don't like the vB.org search mechanism though LOL

One needs find things. Like i acess my subscribed threads from Quick Links. Personally, the addition of the extra bits unique to vB.org would be enough to prove the point.

Why not access them from UserCP like 99% of us do??? :)

Since the option exists on the quick links, I am sure a lot of people normally access them through that. Obviously you get there anyway sooner or later.

It's too restrictive with the 2 word searches or whatever... It makes looking for a PM modification a 4 hour task when it could be found in less than 3 LOL - It just seems a bit redundant at times to even use search because things are so difficult to find... For instance - I search for "vB modification of the month" I get a really loud crashing sound then

The search term you specified (vB) is under the minimum word length (3) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.

Which can really be annoying like when your searching for ............. "Proxy IP to real IP conversion" - and you don't know that Paul M wrote the modification... It just seems odd to me... and irritating sometimes - cause what other word could you replace for "IP"

On vBulletin.com - no problem with searching for the same string... That's why I call it the Search "Mechanism" - it's odd and taxing at times... Just my personal opinion.

Minimum search word length are the same on both vB.com & vB.org.

vb.com is running 3.7 - I think they must have improved the way it works. On 3.6 it will work fine if you include the speechmarks in your search, ie search for "Proxy IP to real IP conversion" not just Proxy IP to real IP conversion.

Really I don't see nothing wrong with the interface, but after I log out I have to see these kind of images to get out of depression [because of the blue ;)]
