The second in a series of business-type themes, Business Green is simple, elegant, and easy on the eyes.
Business Green features -
Separated forum categories
90% original forum images
This theme is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/LIVE DEMO (http://www.themesbydesign.net/forums/index.php?styleid=94)
Installation Instructions -
Click on the "Install" button on the right of this post, then download the zip file to your computer and extract it (I put it on my desktop, it's easier to remember where I put it!).
Open your ftp client to your server. Go to your forum's images folder, open it, and create a styles folder.
Next, upload the bgreen folder via FTP into the styles folder, so that your image path is images/styles/bgreen/buttons, for example.
After you've uploaded the folder, open your admin control panel on your forum, and import the xml file, by going to Styles & Templates > Download / Upload styles > Import Style XML File.
Click on the Browse button, locate the xml file for bgreen, and double-click it so that it loads in that box, then hit the Import button. The zip file contains a folder of blank images in PNG format for easy editing. PSD's are not available.

One of your best styles along with the Blue version. I would use it but the colors don't fit my forum. Two thumbs up.
Mmm i've had a few other people have a look and they can see it, so i'd love to know why i'm unable too. Thanks :)

Thank you Chase and everyone.
As for not being able to view the demo, Mum and Josh, I have no idea why, I'm sorry.
OK thanks anyway, i used to love your themes, but as i can't view any i'll stick with others. If you wish to try and work it out feel free to pm me, as i guess there is something wrong with your site :(

Mum, I did "try and work it out". My host can find nothing wrong. The site is getting a great deal of traffic, new members, and downloads. The only ones I've heard from here are you and one other, who are having trouble viewing my site. That being the case, I have no idea what else to do.

I'm new to all of this, so excuse my ignorance. I installed this style, and have it working on my vbportal, and on individual vbforums, but I can't get it to work universally on my main vb, which is a brand new install. (I'm the only user, so far.) Any ideas.

05-31-2008, 12:41 AM
That's very strange. Please make sure that you uploaded the bgreen folder into your images/styles folder, which you needed to make.

New vBulletin user and this is my first try at using a style. Just love this one! I do have one problem though. I've got it all installed and running but some seems to be missing. Here's the link to the site. Can you advise me? Thanks much.

Yes, something's definitely wrong, but I'm not quite sure how you did it, lol. You need to delete this style, both in your ACP and in your ftp, and start all over again. Read the instructions carefully in the first post of this thread.
You need to re-upload the images correctly. Somehow, you have 2 bgreen folders so your image path is currently images/styles/bgreen/bgreen/misc/navbits_start.gif.
I have no idea how that happened, since there is not 2 bgreen folders to upload.
You also need to import the xml again, in the acp. Somehow all the formatting was lost in the first import.

I actually added the 2nd bgreen in the path because some of the images weren't showing up...not sure how I got the 2nd bgreen in the first place. I'll try the delete and reload and see what happens. Thanks.

The reload worked fine and it looks great. One more problem though...I can't seem to insert my logo. I've checked the path several times and it's just not showing up. Any help here? Thanks so much. Love the way it looks to far!

I just uploaded this, and in the stylevars I changed the title image to reflect my forum logo, it still doesn't show up.
Any thoughts? Did I miss something?
Also how do I set this to my default style for my users?
Thanks!!
Ohiosweetheart
05-31-2008, 11:07 PM
You don't change it in style vars for this theme. Go to the header template and change the logo image there.

Yeah just found that...:o
It is a bit wide thought, other than resizing the image to fit better, is there a way to make it line up with the tables?
Help I'm style stupid...:erm:

The header is coded to stretch across the forum like that. It would have to be recoded.

One thing I noticed. In the statusicon forum, the style is asking for subforum_new.png and subforum_old.png, but the folder contains subforum_new.gif and subforum_old.gif. :D

Again, great theme, thanks!Well darn. The forum status icons are png format. The replacement variable must have called the same format for the subforum icons. You should be able to rename the subforum icons to subforum_new.png and they should be fine.

Very nice looking theme - thank you!
One question though, how can I remove the threads and post columns from the home page? For the other styles I have installed I used the directions from this link - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1347959&postcount=1
The columns have been removed, but the title is still there. Here is a link to the style if you want to see it - http://www.survivalistboards.com/index.php?styleid=8

Hi Ohiosweetheart. I really love the skin. However, for some reason the icons are all coming up as ?. Any chance of you having a quick peek to see what I have done wrong.
I am not very IT literate so your patience might be required. My website address is www.crewforumfriends.com.
Many thanks and more power to you!

easytiger, you don't have the style turned on, so I can't see it. However, judging from what you're saying, my best guess is that the images were uploaded in the wrong place.
Be sure that you created a styles folder inside your forums' images folder, then upload the bgreen folder inside the styles folder. The image path will be images/styles/bgreen

So we need to physically change the name of the file or change it in VB? If we change it in the style where do I find that?

So we need to physically change the name of the file or change it in VB? If we change it in the style where do I find that?open your ftp, locate the bgreen folder in the styles directory, go to the statusicon folder, locate the subforum icons. You'll need to rename all three of them. For example, find subforum_old.gif and rename it subforum_old.png.
That's all :)

I followed the instructions.
Made a styles folder within images folder.
Uploaded the files.
Upon attempting the upload of the xml file, I got a message saying it was built in 3.7.2 so needed upgrade first.
So I did.
Then I again attempted to upload the xml file. I get a "invalid file" message.
Would you mind telling me what I'm doing wrong?
It's a beautiful style and would love to use it.
Thanks in advance.

mc I have no idea what the problem could be. That's a first for me.
Please attempt to import the xml file again and click yes for "ignore style version". Just for the heck of it. Let's see if that works.

Hi. I like the Business Green style. It is one of the nicest styles available. However, I found what might be a bug.
When you have a board with no category, the board's columns disappear in the board listing. This is only an issue with Business Green and not an issue with the default style.
Attached are two images. The first shows how it looks in BG. The second shows the default style.
I tried creating a new board, but got the same issue. It appears that way regardless of whether there are posts or no posts in the board.
Is this a bug in BG? A setting that I'm missing?
Thanks and regards,
Dan.
Ohiosweetheart
07-21-2008, 05:52 PM
Dan, I'm not sure what could be causing this. I have this installed on my developement board, which is where I design all of my themes, and this is not an issue there. Plus, I've not had anyone else report this.
Of course the one thing I can think of is that the theme is designed to work with categories.
Dan Clark
07-21-2008, 06:01 PM
Thanks. We were hoping to have a single forum with no category at the top of the first page to welcome new users.
I created a category to get around this issue, however the category takes up valuable space. Please let me know if you find a solution.
Thanks and regards,
Dan.

I didn't make any edits to the MemberInfo template, so you can save it or revert it, whichever you want. I'll get around to updating these styles as soon as I get some free time.

This style is very clean and efficient with the added benefit of not being fixed. Very well done.
Pardon my ignorance but are there options to customize colors if this particular skin is installed? Leaning more toward the greens in this skin-
http://vbskins.com/forums/?styleid=220
But these would be ok too-

11-19-2008, 05:56 PM
Thank you.
Colors can be changed in the style's Main CSS section. Keep in mind that the category strips, footer and navbar are images, not just colors. If you change those, you'll lose alot of the clean "look".
FearlessWeeder
11-19-2008, 06:06 PM
Somehow I didn't think it was going to be as easy as buying the template and simply using some sort of a drop down menu to select colors.
I thank you very kindly for your candid reply.
